INSANE "DONUT" BORDER ANOMALY! UAE Inside Oman Inside UAE: Exploring Madha and Nahwa
There is a piece of the United Arab Emirates completely inside Oman, which is completely inside the United Arab Emirates!
I spent a day exploring an exclave of Madha - a small 75 sq. km. Omani territory of 3,000 people (of the Musandam Governorate) completely surrounded by the UAE (by Sharjah and Fujairah Emirates). Right in the middle of this Omani land is Nahwa, a second-order enclave (or counter-enclave), which is a part of the UAE.
I got very curious about such a “donut” border anomaly in the Arabian Peninsula and couldn’t miss a chance to explore its every detail!

I'm so envious. I've been to Nahwa, but passing through Madha, I missed the restaurant. I wanted to stop and eat there, but couldn't find it, and before I knew it, I was back in Fujairah!

Restaurant annoyingly pops up in Google Maps as it seems to be the only restaurant in the enclave 😅

No, even if your passport requires a visa to Oman. There is no border control when entering/exiting Madha, so you can go from UAE freely.
