Maybe not, we all have to talk to somebody that actually uses a mobility scooter as their main transportation. Having power may get you out of a unsafe situation. Like a dodging a car that doesn't see you.

when people honk at me i go even slower . it really gets them going . or sometimes i will turn my head facing the back and tongue my fingers like a you know what , it catches them off guard .

What a waste of time and money building this. I think I'll have to build one too.

Everything outside of the frame and shrouds have been changed. Batteries, controller, controls, transaxle including the motor and gone.

Hi cangooify - I have reviewed most (not 100%) of your KZread post in search of some info regarding the components of this build. I found one reply to a person that you had provided some info on an older post but I have been unable to locate that info. Heres what the uploader said in another comment: i made the scooter long time ago and didnt expected so many views to make it worth for a how to video, basically i bought a mobility scooter and welded a new chassis so it can hold the brutal force i planned to it, i used a gokart steering mechanism on the front, same on the rear with a custom axle made on the lathe.And the most important part the electronics: The motor is from a Zero dsr motorcycle with a sevcon size6 controller custom programmed, sevcon controllers are not easy to program but if you look deep enough on the internet you can get some ideas, if you wondering where can you get a zero motor the answer is nowhere really, theres on ebay sometimes but its sold quickly if theres any, if anybody wants to build a similar powered mobility scooter it can be done with a big ass dc motor and some high discharge lipos.Or alternatively buy a zero dsr and transfer all the parts into the scooter but im not sure if its worth it :) i hope it helped for everyone

Kicks Ass. Love to see you driving it down the aisle at Walmart and on go-cart track especially competing against go-carts in a race. Love to see how well it does competing on a 1/8mi dragstrip. With the proper gear ratio and/or tire size I bet you could clean up. If you set it up so it was reaching peak RPM just as you're crossing the 1/8mi mark and could get some good traction leaving the line you'd be hard to beat!! God Bless 🙏😇 Y'all Jimmy in NC....

TomaCukor ohhh so many dramas... the trike project got stuck for many random reasons, technical reasons, no space (last year I had a super small workshop what slowed down lots of things too), moved houses twice, no time to work on the project, when I had time I crashed a motorcycle and ended up in hospital and spent all my holidays resting,.. then I got married (preparations and honeymoon = forget about toys) then NOW that I have all setup and I was actually getting lots of stuff done... I am working on an Electric Mercedes conversion that is taking up all my time, working at Batrium.com developing new advanced BMS and building/consulting for an electric hydrofoil surfboard (this one I can’t show anything unfortunately). Yeah Im super keen to get all sorter and back to normal... fingers crossed haha =]

This is a IPM type motor ,not a knock off noisy Chinese motor.This is American,German,etc technology using a custom battery pack,high quality controller,etc

Will be probably a simply build will have a motor for each wheel/ or one big motor for both wheels chain drive axel motor connected to batterys and controller same as an electric bike mounts

What makes this even more impressive is that it is still running on electric, not some Kawasaki engine swap or something like that. I am little worried about the range tho...

Actually, I now (unfortunately) need one.. I have been looking into those covered and heated mobility scooters, they're really wonderful, but a bit low on the power side. So I was looking into ways to up the power by at least ten times - love to know what you did with it, and how you managed to keep the power sources discreetly hidden...
