It's currently $3100 with the seat shipped, and they have cheaper and lighter models. The closest American-made competition costs over 8k, and they just ripped off the designs of the "generic" Chinese models.

    @@henlofren7321 i'm not one of the people that's worried, i ride an Obarter X3 (much smaller but still heavy and large) myself It's also reassuring that they use Hani Battery Technologies (Chinese but decent) rather than some generic crap, i've got a 3 year old Hani ebike battery, and it's fine, the only less nice thing is that Hani apparently only has 18650's but i've put VESC based controllers in, barely use the brakes, i usually use regen on a second throttle and i like the feeling of it more than the original ones, and i can put more power in the motors aswell I also suppose most people wont get something that heavy or large

    @@BH4x0r Sounds like the they're perfect for modding. I'm looking at this model because I have a ton of lifepo 32650s and I'm very tall and heavy myself (250lb + 100lb cargo is the minimum I carry, I ride with my gf too). I've used an X3 before and it didn't have enough range for my use case, but the build quality was perfect. It's good to know that you got it working with VESC controllers too.

    @@BH4x0r I have been riding these huge beasts since the 1st came to the United States in 2003 on Ebay from China. Super Scooters website in Carolinas. Back then it was only 350.00 with no more than a 500 watt motor. I beat it up good. Everyone called me wierd and nerdy. No laws existed. No cop resisted messing with me. I wouldn't stop. I kept going running from the loud cop. I can ride, slide, hide and dip. Ninja scooter electric with kick! Then I upgraded to the 800 watt when they dropped that model and then the 1000 and the 1500 and now the 1500 lithium. I would love to have one of the wepeds or any of these premium models. It's like buying a huffy fake freestyle weak engineered design bike frame and having a professional designed frame bike of a GT or Haro. Huge difference in what one can do with a correctly designed tool. I'm saving for a 8k worth of bank for whatever it buys me. But man.. these scooters are power sleds for hauling trash and treasures. I use it by putting a huge chair on top. I do stunts and jumps and live it up. Because it's electric and most have three or 4 batteries in series wired you can tap into just one of the 12v power sources (batteries) and power car stereos. LOL. DO IT! JAM AND RIDE OUT!

    @@MacNifty uh nah all modern scooters just use a large Li-Ion pack inside, not separate ones on the other hand just search a very powerful car amp, there definitely are models that exceed 48V and even 72V on the output side, use a step down converter to power the opamps and chips (for 12V and 5V rails) and bypass the power supply, it'll be more efficient and use less battery power as it doesn't need to step-up the 12V to a usable voltage and spread over all the batteries it'll need to be a full bridge pwm amp that doesn't have negative rails tho (Soundigital, Taramps etc.)

  • @MacNifty

    @MacNifty

    Жыл бұрын

    @@BH4x0r Well they might have a large bulk enclosure.. But there is multiple cells always inside that pack. There is no solid lithium block that exists they are all with leafs or plates. Or people cheating packing a bunch of individual package bowl package resale cells and then putting it inside of an enclosure. There is always a variable to the inside construction that will give you multiple or a various of voltage or current that you can pick from if you dig into the print and construction. I mean if you look at it as a purchased item and you don't cut it open yeah it's looking like a big chunk of something. A human only weighs so much. For me 150 horsepower will fly me around like a rocket. So my goal is just a have some electric replacement for the 1,000cc rocket. At this point I will be happy with 650 CC equivalent. All I need is 100 mile range.

  • @BH4x0r

    @BH4x0r

    Жыл бұрын

    @@MacNifty I know they're all separate 18650's or 27100s, but once again you wouldn't wanna drain just a few instead of all either way, you get much more range and longer playtime, cuz once the "12V" bank goes dead it could be that there's still 75% capacity in the other cells left, as an example, and your battery will be "dead" while there's so much more energy left

    You don't know about leverage either? They are close to the pivot, meaning that the force on the hub center gets multiplied by that leverage factor, also you gain suspension distance compared to what that shock alone could do...

    Seems like the spec implies that it's construction elements like o-rings etc., are capable of withstanding the forces of sudden very hard compression of the dampeners, and not necessarily that they're pumped up at 1000psi while at full extension. Say for instance they're filled to 100psi when not under compression but when you land hard off a jump/ramp that sudden compression is going to shove that 100psi into a much smaller volume area which in turn would cause a drastic increase of the internal psi during those moments. Anybody feeling me on this?

    Yes, just seeing a guy fly by going 60mph standing up on scooter. Dangerous indeed. I have an e bike that tops 38mph as I can tell by my speed. It is the hard dips or pot holes ECT that or will make you lose control to crash. Going that fast of just 28mph and up , you need to ensure the road or terrain is a smooth surface. But we all know it is the cars , trucks, ECT that don't see you in time that will kill US. I'm fine around 40mph on an e bike but on a scooter going that fast is just too much of the chances of a crash. Use speed to zip by incoming crashes, over going with the flow of traffic. Up the chances of avoiding vs the high percentage of crashing going that fast.

    Oh too, when riding fast around 30 to 60 on scooter or ebike, you must have braking of right timing along with brakes adjusted right because it takes 40 feet to start braking , going 60 you need at least 50 to 60 feet so that green light don't change to yellow to red before you start braking is always serious need to not get caught in those intersections. Be safe cuz we e bikes never want to see our own kind die in horrific way of speeding, it is not a pretty site.

    Just be aware, a 60v battery can kill you if you ever touch open leads while connecting a charger or if you accidentally touch something or if it's shorting out (like after an accident). Don't think just because you have good connectors and no exposed wires that you can't get zapped. My bud was changing out his 72v battery when his keys accidentally touched the plug. The key that touched it blew apart, sparked big time but luckily he only got minor zap burns. Unfortunately, the battery's BMS got totally screwed up and cost him a lot of $. Mass produced ebikes and escooters typically have had 52v for the most part. This is because 52v is a lot less likely to kill you if an accident should occur. Of course, the kids that buy the 84v behemoth escooter are indestructible (in their limited brain capacity), but are having so much fun, they make videos to make others buy them. Hell, that's what got me to buy mine back in 2015 I bought mine (a foldable 40mph chain-drive with a 48v LiFePo4 battery). Manufacturers are going friggen nuts with voltage these day, so after enough people fry or have permanent damage from electrocution and/or from sick speeds, which in-turn cause law suits happen, you can bet laws, taxation, registration, inspection, rules, corruption and every other stupid thing will follow. BE EXTRA, EXTRA FKN CAREFUL ON THAT THING! Just sayin'

Meaning the rear wheels will not have as much contact to generate braking force as the front. So adding extra braking friction on the rear when there isn't enough mass for it to do anything, is pretty stupid! It's a visual thing only. ALL cars will have smaller brakes at the rear than the front for this reason, regardless of whether they are disc or drum brakes.

And then, just for fun go out and repeat with a scooter with twice the stopping power on the front than the back and then go count the teeth you're missing after you eat poop... i.e., go ride a couple of scooters for a Wille and then come back and talk all the "Physics" you want.. You like flying over the handle bars? Harder braking at the rear helps to make the scooter squat down to a lower center of gravity especially as you should be leaning back and putting weight onto the rear when braking hard at high speeds (this isn't a 4 wheel automobile). I'd love to see you go high speed on a scooter like this and then apply more power to the front brakes than to the rear. Make sure you upload a video to KZread 👍
