Inquisition is a monster of black metal which is why they're my favorite black metal band. I can listen to them all day and not get tired. And for a band that consist only of two guys?, they sound like a band of 4 guys; they are the best.

4:07 - You probably already know this, but Dagon gets those bends by applying pressure to a floyd rose as he plays (or other equivalent floating bridge, not really sure what specifically he uses, doesn't really matter)

Huge Rock 'N' Roll influence which also comes from Bathory, no doubt. Quorthon's style, in the beginning, was also primitive Black Metal with Rock 'n' Roll influences. There are lots of riffs that sound like a "spiritual" evolution of Bathory's stuff.

Hey bud thanks for breaking all of this down for us to learn and study. As a newer Inquisition fan it is truly interesting to learn all of their nuances to achieve their awesome black metal sound. The bends were what initially drew me into them, that's not something you get a lot of at all in this subgenre and it sticks out in a cool way. Not to mention the total transcending of black metal vocal styling by Dagon, his style sounds as if he's some sort of anticosmic being that narrates the end times. Very informative Farvann, you have earned a new subscriber. Thank you!

I’m very curious what kind of modulation effects Dagon is using on the newest album, in particular the really warped vibrato sounds on the single note passages, I don’t think it’s a chorus pedal, I could be wrong though. Any help would be appreciated

Dagon does pretty much the same vocal technique as Abbath. Something I like to call the Croak. Its a sound I also became obsessed with as a child because it made me sound like a robot or something. Black metal robot frogs? That'd be something.

Pretty cool video, insead of having to listen to like 4 different records for several months I can now use this video to incoperate theese styles to my own ideas. Fun stuff, can't wait to experiment with all of this! Ps: You did not mention those wailing vibrato notes/chords that the guitarist sometimes use like in Hail The Cult etc but great job anyway.

Awesome video on the unique guitar playing style that is inquisition! You forgot one style which I think is critical! On some of the open chords (usually Em) Dagon would strum the chord then “bend” the note by pressing his palm into the tremolo on a Floyd rose, not using the whammy bar!

I just say "subscribe to Rob Scallon" because I want to make fun of all the KZreadrs saying "subscribe to my channel" ... like how bad is it to tell people what to do? If they like the videos, they will subscribe. You don't need to tell them 😂
