I must be missing something. Couldn't we do the same operation using a common boring bar? That's just for starters. The other thing I noticed is that you made your carbide holder to be used with the lathe in reverse. I say this because you're cutting on the back side.of center. Those of us with vintage machines have threaded spindles, that don't like running in reverse. Wakodahatchee Chris.
