Excellent review Kent. Very clear and concise. I was debating between buying this tool vs Innova's braided steel sheathed hose version that also comes with a 10mm adapter, for $20 more. I ended up buying the rubber hose version and the hose seems plenty rugged. It can be a little challenging to screw the cylinder head fitting into some cylinder heads, especially on push mowers where there are cooling fins surrounding the spark plug hole. If your pinch strength is any good you can get your index finger and thumb on the brass crimped piece that connects to the hose so you don't strain the hose while twisting it snug. I used this Guage to determine that my Lawn-Boy Silver Series 4.5HP push mower has an air leak as it only compresses to 60 psi. My Stihl FS45 trimmer on the other hand compresses to a whopping 150 psi! No problems there. I plan to use this tool on my BG55 blower and MS211C chainsaw as well. The chainsaw however has a 10mm spark plug bore, so I will need a separate adapter to test it.

You should check if your gauge has a schrader valve in the end of hose if not that's probably why you compressis low. Went through the same problem found out the gauge I bought was junk. First test had 32 lb new gauge 95 lb

Great Video - and you are right Homelite is CRAP. However, that's just my opinion for what it's worse. Just bought one of these compression testers myself. $25 on Amazon - cant beat it.

BMW uses 12mm adapter

Just came across your video. I'm a small engine tech and would tell you to purchase a better brand from a lawn equipment shop. Stihl, Echo, Redmax, Shindawa. Those units at one time were decent but not anymore. They are called throw-a -ways

Buy a stihl fs250 and never buy another for life. If you can find one anyway. Not easy to get ahold of
