Inlay to Cover a Repair - part II: making it symmetrical. Classical Guitar
Музыка
When I asked if I should make an inlay to the other side of the fingerboard to make it symmetrical with the one covering the repaired crack, most people suggested I should.
So here it goes! It meant an ever bigger detour from the schedule of this guitar, but I am quite pleased with the final result. Now I can get back to french polishing it. I really enjoy the delicate work involved in inlaying.
Make sure to look at the first video of the repair!

It is incredibly useful! At first I even thought it was a bit too small, but I find myself reaching for it all the time. It is precise, delicate and easy to use. Perfect for inlay work.
Great solution! nice to see the other side

Yeah, I think those situations can be opportunities, right. Won't lie, I was very upset when it happened. Now I'm happy with the results.

@@chriscrevelsguitars I understand. All luthiers make accidents now and then, the most of them don't show it on camera. With showing us that, you make the video's very natural and special. Thanks again 🎵

@@Nour01 To be fair, I think a lute is harder to build than a guitar, with the rounded body. It sure would be a lot of learning for me, but I would love to try when time comes
yes, on two sides is nicer
