Quick note: Liquitex ink is not India ink, it’s acrylic ink. India ink is a separate thing, though for this specific application they’ll work the same. But it’s important to remember that when using any acrylic-based medium you generally shouldn’t mix it with so much water as this will cause the acrylic binder to fail and it won’t adhere to surfaces properly anymore, the only reason it’s seems to be working fine here is because you are painting on an absorbent paper. India ink is usually just made with water + pigment (usually carbon) so you can add as much water as you want no problem.

Sir I am your big fan from india
Are your pen and ink courses suitable for complete beginners? Or should I take a pencil drawing course first?
Jst awesome
Amazing!! One question: Why do you use a glass palette? Is it just personal preference or is it so the ink doesn't get absorbed? Or something else? Anyone?

Hi Smashing Pencils, I use all different types of palettes. Usually I use disposable ones. Glass is simply easy to clean and you can put any color of paper behind it that you wish.

@@thevirtualinstructor Ahh I see. Thanks man!! Really appreciate that!
Sorry if by any chance you talked about this already, if you did, I didn't catch it! Quick question is you could help me... Does alcohol (india) ink stain porcelain/ceramic palette? Or does it wipes away like watercolors? I'm about to buy my first inks and don't want to ruin my watercolor palette!
👍👍👍
Thanks for the tutorial! Can somebody or the Tutor tell me names of brands of the hot press 140lb paper for watercolour? I can find only Fabriano Studio hot Press 140lb, size 9x12. I would like to find also paper size A3... It is not easy for me because I am an Italian living abroad from my country, in Russia. Ink art is my only way to express in little space. Thanks

Duna Dan the link in the description is to Arches Hot Press. Fabriano also makes professional grade hot press paper (“Studio” usually indicates student grade). There are others. Maybe try to find an art store in your area? Hot press watercolour paper is a very common and basic supply that any art store should carry. There are many brands available. Some are a brighter white than others. It’s a matter of preference. Look for 100% cotton and a weight of at least 300 gsm (140#). If you buy a full sheet, rather than a pad, you can cut or tear it easily to the sizes you need. The full sheets are often of a better quality than the sheets in a pad for some reason.
Cheeries, the happiest fruit.
What is the music that plays at the beginning?
How many does it take?
Question: We have a lot of bottles full of whiteboard marker's ink lying around the house. Can I use this for ink washes or not? Kinda sad if all would just go to waste
