    Super excited about the update in older injector technology. A clean starting and clean running 12 valve sounds great. Guess I'm gonna have to pull the trigger now.

    Can’t wait to see that late 5.9 your talking about. I’m looking for that type of setup, clean quiet 600+. 12v injectors; Maybe compare your new ones to factory marine and your old extrude, would be nice to see on bench and dyno.

    wow the wealth of knowledge lenny has, still advancing technology on 20 plus year old trucks, i love it and good job. DDP has to be the only company doing stuff like this aftermarket wise for injectors, i mean why would anyone buy anything else but ddp. Question, the new power driven diesel 12v power jet injectors as they call it, as i understand there manufactured by ddp, do those have that pilot technology in those? and what spray angle are those at? how many holes? what size holes?

  • @DynomiteDieselTV

    Have you tried making the pilot hole setup using a dual rate spring on the pintle so the pilots would fire until the flow went up enough to start activating the big holes?

  • @DynomiteDieselTV

    @DynomiteDieselTV

    Жыл бұрын

    The amount of pintle lift is already a really small number. Adding a dual rate spring would only operate based on the lesser of spring rates, so I'm not sure that your idea will work.

    So with all this experience, where is the book that dials the costumer in for best results? Rating hp, fuel mileage, and torque rpm range? Don’t skimp on anything; turbo, manifold, injectors, pumps ( lift and pressure), exhaust system. Of course you will need to include different vehicles and engines. But if you had a catalog we could point at and say this is my goal for now! And Dynamite Diesel is my go to.

  • @DynomiteDieselTV

    @DynomiteDieselTV

    Жыл бұрын

    There is no book, or simple answer, when it comes to the "perfect" setup. "Perfect" is extremely subjective, and changes depending upon what someone's end goal is, paired with their driving style. Let's not forget the fact that every one of these trucks/engines are different. Just because you install the same parts, in the same engine, doesn't mean that they will respond the same. This is why we have forms on our website, that we ask customers to fill out, to provide us with as much information as possible about each customers build, so we can make the best possible recommendation on injectors.

    Hi Lenny I like how you mix dance art with your tutorials. At 10:08 and at 10:35 you were doing The Village People YMCA dance. You are good at injectors but you should hone you dancing skills a bit more. I am in the process of swapping in some of your injectors into my 06 Ram truck. I can't wait for the day I can turn the key to see and feel the difference. BTW should I have my injector lines professionally cleaned? Or is brake clean and air pressure ok?

    I am with "thekid760" I would love to see those videos, some data, dyno run sheets etc. anything!! on the 6 to 700hp 2006 5.9 injectors, especially with a cat still installed. I run Calibrated's tunes and they are the best of the four tuners I have tried and now that they are familiar with DDP injectors I am one step closer to making a purchase. Lenny has talked about their six hole injectors for the 2006 and 2007 5.9s in several videos (I own a 2006) and how they run very clean, quiets down the pinging and rattling and have great tip-in/throttle response, smoke and EGT control with plenty of power but,, all I have to go on are the three or four talking videos. Great info. love the pilot hole idea. I hope to see these show up on their web page with some supporting data soon.

    I’m old and new with injectors with a 1991 Cummins 6BT with factory Holset and aftercooler Not looking for horsepower increase just better than factory and perhaps properly injectors would be the key to a sweet spot. Not interested in more horsepower because of the Allison AT545 can’t take it. Can you build better than original injectors for me ?. It’s a flat nose bus by the way.

  • @cesarlaso356

    So large nozzle injectors will flow just as little as stocks because of inmproper pressure balance between control area and needle area. Translation: large nozzles are lazy and extend duration time and injector duration with the same energize time. The goal is to mimic stock injector timing with larger higher flowing nozzles. Question- how much bigger of a nozzle before body modification is needed? In other words, accepted timing goes out of spec at what percentage of the nozzle being enlarged. I want to do 60% nozzle swaps. Thank you.

    If spray angle compatibility is so critical then why don't they mark the bowl angle on the piston id label on the box I called tech support at Mahle to confirm what Ken ordered me was 1st gen Cummins spec. Or if you were getting ready to ship me a set of correct angle sticks. I had to explain that Bowl and spray angle matching is a critical aspect for diesel. Definitely a man that worked the gas side of the house Never got him convinced I wasn't blowing smoke up his ass. So have no bowl angle, just a hope and prayer that it's right. And then I don't squeeze the head off of piston from hoseing the piston in my fresh motor.

    Seems like 90% of the aftermarket stuff is 155 degree marine or non inter-cooled to me. An easy way to tell is how many rings the piston has. The marine pistons have an extra ring. You could probably break out the calipers and call some 12v specialists and get sorted out.

  • @daviddroescher

    @daviddroescher

    @Wade Tate so you are suggesting I need new injectors? 1st gen Cummins injectors are 145° If i have proper 145° pistons the problem is 155° will melt a145° piston from spraying out of the bowl.

  • @wadetate6459

    @wadetate6459

    I’m not claiming to be an expert. Call someone who is. I have no idea what pistons you have. Non-intercooled first gens were 155*. Marine are 155*. Intercooled first gen+ p-pump were 145*. There are significant visual differences between pistons.

  • @daviddroescher

    @Wade Tate as I said I called the engineering department at Mahle to get the answer the man could not say from part #'s if the parts in my motor were 145°or 155° only that it was +0.020". And yes IC 1stgen so I've got the 145 injectors ( factory original w/.5M mi repoped to 253bar 25k mi ago) A 155°piston will work in a non-catastrophic manner, but will not work RIGHT. It'll have idle haze ( check symptom present only after the rebuild), get poor mileage ( check lost 3mpg) , low boost/ high egt from the improper burn( check lost 5psi and gained ~150egt). All reasons I called the maker of my piston in the first place.
