The only arcade we had near the sea used to have a BIG BEN slot machine and a helicopter in a glass cabinet. I used to stay in my gran`s caravan next to the old car park from 1970 to 1980. Looks very busy now.

We used to come every year to Ingoldmells and I seem to remember that sml fair with some slides there was it called Eastgate? We used to stay at benroys holiday camp near a sml arcade called Richards and there used to be those cable cars at butlins. Great video great memories and I'm in my 50s fab place 😀

Will be staying at Butlins in June. Going to Fantasy Island for my first time ! xx

Just watched in 1977 when I was younger there used to be a pub called the Three Tuns ..They sold Beer straight from the wood it was very tasty but you had to give it respect and know your limit ..I can Remember the car park walking down to the beach and the fish and chip shop couple of other shops..

Who also remembers the flinstone type pedal cars they used to drive up and down the main lane 😂 different times

Used to holiday on The Seaview caravan site in the late '60s and early '70s. I remember the 2 go-kart tracks one for little kids and one for the older ones with the slide. Won my first camera at Bingo in the Seaview arcade (it had a sticky shutter) and had them developed at the hexagonal kiosk outside the arcade which took a couple of days to come back.Took Quite a few photos down Ingoldmells and Skegness with that B&W camera and some of the dolphins that were where the Skegness aquarium is now. Will have a look next time I have a clearout.

Sorry had look through my old photos and couldn’t not find them. May have got lost when I got married in the 80s and move home, again sorry.

I remember going to Ingoldmells point. I collect vinyls allways did I got some older kids to play ashes to ashes by bowie that was a early memory. We had lovely times, we then had a few hoildays 2004 2007 in skeg and we allways went back to Ingoldmells.

They played ashes to ashes on jukebox.they had a kids room were you had to sit with parents you got crisps and soft drinks on there.back in them days children were not allowed in the main bar.

First time I went Ingoldmells was late 1970s, mum and dad had a caravan there till early 1980s we called our van gleamy we loved it.

The Holland family who now owns fantasy island used to bring the funfair under the archway, the market was called East gate market, the arcade was called fantasy island and had a burger bar at the front. Around the back was a family club and a open air pool, one one side was a night club called Raffles

Brings back memories esp the entrance onto the beach near the pub/bar. As a kid I cracked my head on the bars right near that bar 😂 the bars still havent changed by the looks of it 😂.

Around the go-cart track was a train track and there was the inflatable (Lunaland) and Goofy Golf at the back...not entirely sure as memory is foggy but end of 70s it disappeared...and yes, that Tesco Express was the indoor market...chip shop next to it on the left and a petrol garage on the right

Proper holidays at good prices round Skeggy and Ingoldmells. Some people don't know how lucky they are to have all that.

Completely different to when I was a kid in the 80s, we used to go to a caravan on that lane to the beach….the shops were there, a car park and I remember a small race track for the ride on cars.

Came last week, its changed so much ingoldmells sold parts of the beach to Bibby's bar making it a dirt track for trikes/motorbike/quad/ etc Bibby's bar is taking over the beach view

I first started going to ingoldmells in the 90s as a kid and the beaches never used to be so high, there used to be wave breakers and about 6 steps going down to the beach, it’s so different now x

When I was kid, they had a few cafes and arcades I used to play monacco gp sega game spend all my pocket money on it. I bought a star wars figure from skeg. And allways bought nice things. It's got a good market fantasy island opened,about 1997 kind regards.

I can remember fantasy island just being a field in the 70s I was about 7 or 8 the beach near the big wheel was replenished from the sea about a month ago they were pumping sand from out to sea back to land lol like you I’ve been going to Skeg and ingoldmells since I was a kid in the 70s I bet me old Mum would have photos somewhere I must dig them out, great video mate

That’s great about the ghost hunting I will look into some places I live near Northampton now I know there’s a few haunted places around not sure how far you want to travel though

I can remember in the 60s and early 70s a miniature steam train you used to ride on at ingoldmels point, where small cars with engines were there aswell. Good times.

i have the pleasure of working at Bibby's beach and the Thomas train at the beginning of the year was terrible but then t got asked to clean it

I will come ghost hunting mate I was a Halloween baby it might make the ghosts come out 😂 changing the subject do you remember fat Louis bar in Skeg before it burnt down I used to sat outside there people watching it’s not the same now it’s the hive and the pirate fish and chips now

Whatever happened to Used Tackle? That was a great place for decent quality fishing tackle at extremely reasonable prices.

A great video. I've just come across this channel and I'm impressed by what I've seen so far (I really enjoyed the 40s/50s event video). Just an idea but, everyone who does Ingoldmells concentrates on the big market so - for something different - why not do a tour round the 'little' market on the other side of the road? It's a good place to shop and I'm sure folks will find it interesting. BTW. I've subscribed.

Church farm (also reputedly haunted) The Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre (again reputedly haunted) Chapel St Leonards village and Anderby Creek (a great place to spend a day on the beach). Check out the hotels on skeggy seafront taken over by our dinghy friends.

We are voted the worst place for 5years running do we get a 🏅 for that I live in Skegness and hate it that is the truth I think living there if you have been Once that's it you have done it
