    Thank you so much for this series, I am a product design engineer student who is finally trying to learn how to properly sketch like a product/industrial designer. I have been very disappointed with the lack of good sketching vids on youtube but your channel is a hidden gem!

    Great video and I really like the cheesy introductions😂 about the next video for shadows, can you explain how to project shadows for objects on the air? So shadow falls to ground, I have difficulty with them. Also how to drop shadows on other objects, flat or curved surfaced. Thank youuuu☺️☺️☺️

    do eclipses have a line weight?

  • @robertlkiss

    @robertlkiss

    Every illustrative drawing benefits from line weight since it communicates light direction, shadows, positioning, and just makes the whole lineart more dynamic.

    Alright I feel like your theories are new to me and they conflict with what I know. To my knowledge we use thicker line weight on edges of which we can't see all bordering faces. That also applies to the grooves you showed, but only when there is a hidden face 'attached' to that line that we can't see. Also, using heavier line weight on edges of curved faces like cilinders or even spheres, no added line weight because technically that face has no edge.

  • @robertlkiss

    @robertlkiss

    3 жыл бұрын

    Sorry, not sure I got what the conflict is. Technically there are no outlines in nature at all so most of the rules are there to make the visual more appealing. Thicker lines can be there for representing shadow area, to pop specific parts of the visual to show overlapping areas, to differentiate detail are from utlines, and many more.

    Hey i am from India can anyone tell me what kind of markers is he using and if there is any availability in India

  • @robertlkiss

    @robertlkiss

    Жыл бұрын

    I use the Papermate Flair M fineliners and Stylefile markers. The fineliner I'm pretty sure you can get it worldwide. The markers are a german brand not sure if they deliver in India, but I would recommend Touch because they are a brand that is quite present on the Asian continents and I actually like them quite a bit.

    i hope engineering school teach these, my classmate and me draw like shit lol, we have to do cad for the simplest sketch

  • @robertlkiss

    @robertlkiss

    4 жыл бұрын

    That is totally fine. I studied (industrial design) together with people who didn't care for sketching and all and always jumped straight into CAD. It's really up to what you prefer. Many people in the concept art industry don't really draw, they understand lighting and color and only use 3D modeling and photobashing to achieve the results they need. SO it is really up to what you need to get the job done ;)
