Industar 50 2 50mm f3 5 on Hasselblad X1D og X2D

In this review I look an old Russian and very compact lens on my Hasselblad X2D. It’s is an Industar 50-2 50mm f3.5 lens, that is based on a very old Leica design from the 1930s. It’s an M42 mount lens, and I mount it using two different adapters, first an M42 to Canon FD adapter, that I have previously used to mount M42 lenses on my old Canon FD cameras, the Canon AE-1 program and the Canon F-1, secondly a Canon FD to Hasselblad XCD adapter, that has made it possible to use Canon FD lenses on my X1D mark ii and my X2D.

Thanks for a very thorough and informative review. I have one of these lens on a Zenit 3c I have not shot yet I didn't think it would be any good but you have inspired me to use it.

Bought one in a red cross store the other day, to use on my Fuji - Had never heard of it, but I have the 100mm Zuiko 2.8, and that is really nice - And so is this, brilliant lens.

I have tried vintage lenses on the X2D but have to be very careful about keeping the camera still as the electronic shutter gets the wobbles. The Pixii has an electronic shutter and is immune. Maybe HB ought to talk to Pixii. Nice post, thanks/tak.

It is the size of the sensor, that make i impossible to have a short enough read-out time.

Why do you need this bottle glass on your camera? There are many manual 50mm lenses of decent quality, why this one?

When I look at the images in Phocus and zoom to 100%, they are very, very sharp. Furthermore, this small lens doesn't even vignette as much as some of the Hasselblad lenses. So bottle glass ??? Definitely not. But for creative use, the lens shows some interesting flaring, that can produce some really interesting shots. So both for sharpness and creative use it is an awesome lens.
