I think you can only order 2 items at a time, because a 3rd plate would keep the arm from closing and block the main path for other orders, so it is designed for you to order 2 items, then the pause between orders lets you grab the plates before more shows up and making a blockage.

not sure about that since it is good for business if you can order more than 2 items, just that perhaps maximum 2 come first then probably a sensor to see if the items were picked up then the other items will come. The table size is small though so that is another possible issue ordering more in general.

@@ck3908 It may be good for business if you can order multiple things at the same time, though i‘ve seen a restaurant on tv, that especially only allowed a limited amount of orders, served in small amounts and with around 2 or 5 minutes forced waiting time in between orders, to minimize food waste.

The screen at the entrance displaying the wait time is a good idea. I wish more places in the U.S. had them, especially in areas with a bunch of restaurants. It would be nice to be able to just walk around and know how long the waits were.
@bojyoohoo
Жыл бұрын
You can just ask the host/hostess that's likely standing right by where this thing would be, just as easy.
@nickfosley2882
Жыл бұрын
@@bojyoohoo not as accurate, and the hostess almost always says 10-20 minutes so they don't lose you as a customer so you end up waiting 20 minutes, but you don't leave yet because you already wasted 20 minutes waiting and surely there will be a table soon right? RIGHT?!?! then you end up waiting 45 minutes to finally get a table. Also, I used to work at BJ's and was told by the manager to always say 10-20 minutes, but never more than 30 because that would discourage customers to dine somewhere else. An electronic system like in this case would be more reliable because it uses algorithms to figure out proper wait times and doesn't play games to make a profit.

@@bojyoohoo I'd like to believe that but with my own personal experience whenever asking how long the wait is, and being lied to every single time combined with the amount of upvotes I received, as sad as I am to admit, it seems like very common practice. Which I've learned not to mind because I don't get let down when the 20 minute mark passes. I just know machines tend to be better at estimation than human discretion is all. I'm not saying you're wrong/lying, it's just wrong in my reality.

@@bezymjannaja in france a big mac from mcdonalds often cost like 6euros, so around 6.5$, for junk food with items of mediocre quality, and a pretty small size too meaning you must often take 2 plus fries and sides to even feel full, for 2 people you can easily pay 30 to 40$ if you decide to make a well loaded meal, here you have small plates of pretty original sushis and products, probably way more fresh and healthier too, and overall a way better experience, he ordered a lot of stuff even multiple deserts and only had a 23$ bill, no need for the stupid US tip system on top of the bill or anything, just 23$ and you are out of the restaurant it's literally super cheap in my opinion

I would rather have it made fresh at the bar, rather than have it sitting on a conveyor belt running around. And that’s the way it is here, they just put it on the belt and it goes around till somebody takes it. I think there’s one in Pasadena that you can order it and they put it on the belt to send it to you, so that’s not so bad.

It's also for ordering purposes! If you order directly on the screen, it's much faster for the bill. Some places (such as my city) will have staff that comes over and reviews the plates ordered. If you only remove the food on the belt, it's trickier, especially in a food coma. The staff will ask you to order off the screen the next time you visit. Plus, some hot food items they offer are much better fresh and hot. Dessert-wise, it's not the best to have melted ice cream either. I only order off the screen.

@@nickfosley2882 Yeah but that system only works when you got a time limit before you have to clear out, where as here in freedom land you can stay for how ever long you want like a full on butt-munch even if the place closed half an hour ago all while having the nerve to give a half baked tip for hoarding a table for hours.
The sheer efficiency of all that engineering just for a very convenient dining experience amazes me!
Sushiro is one of my favorite places to drop by at in Japan. Simple, cheap, and frankly very satisfying to see the food go around on the conveyor belt. We need more of these in the Americas

I used to go to one in Westwood California but it closed a long time ago. That was back in the 80s. There’s only a couple others that I know about in California when I lived in LA.

As someone who travel's the US fairly often I can say their not rare but also not common usually located in larger cities in the more "expensive" mall's. But if their not closed for whatever reason the quality of the food is questionable at best. It's sad to say I can't really imagine an American chain doing this style well.

The food looked amazing! I appreciate the fact that there isn't much interaction needed to get your food, it's perfect for foreigners, definitely would be the type of place i'd go to when I will travel to Japan! Thank you for sharing all those places! :)
The way you moved the chips over to keep your companion from stealing them. I feel it.

My favorite thing about Japan is there attention to detail and quality. You can get super affordable sushi but that is known to be safe and high quality, I wish we had that in the States. I know there are affordable sushi places if I look hard enough but it's still not the same.

I always love opening KZread and finding a new Dancing Bacons video at the top of my recommendations. Great way to close out my day,
You really make eating in Japan worth taking an extended trip just to spend time dining in the places you find.
Am so happy we have this Sushiro restaurant in Thailand...with many braches available as well. the price start from 0.99 $ up to 8.99. None of the dish will cost you higher than 10$.... last months I was at one of the branches in Bangkok and end up with almost 30 plates and the price is only less than 25 $. So happy Japanese are popular and easy to reach in Thailand.
I love how some Japanese restaurants are good for people eating alone. As an introvert, i really want to visit this kind of place. Haha
When life is hell, your videos are my safe place. ❤️
I'm going to be in Japan in February so that looks like an amazing place to visit while I'm there. Thanks for always showing awesome food and restaurants.
I have never been this early to a DancingBacons upload! Thank you for all of the great content.
I went to conveyor belt sushi for the first time today! 😂 love that you posted this while I was eating it! 😍
Those thick cut potato chips are everything. In the US there is a restaurant chain that used to serve these and I died a little when they discontinued them.
Enjoyed all your selections today, including desserts & drink! Wonderful choices!

This place, Sushiro, has surprisingly good quality sushi for the price. The most common sushi is on yellow plates for 130yen or less than $1 USD. If you come here just for sushi, you can easily fill up for less than 2000yen or less than $15 USD.
Pretty sure the 2 item limit is because that's as much as the express lane can handle at once.
