They are NOT giving all they can, and they aren't trying to cater to fans or continue a beloved series. They, like all media, are not genuine anymore, this is just another pricey virtue signaling propaganda piece. White man bad, masculine man bad, masculine woman good, independent woman good, minorities good, whites bad, Nazis bad. Consume new product, be excited for next product, say byebye old ways, spry new woman is in town, yass queen. They don't even care about profits, they have merch, and even if that doesn't work to make up the cost, they checked every esg score box well and will still get big funding and approval from blackrock and other conglomerations that don't allow anything that sends "the message" to fail. It's meant to demoralize those who don't loyally eat up everything their favorite corporation dumps out, and those who don't align with "the message".

I used to work in a healthcare facility where a new director was brought in and he replaced all the department heads with his friends who were all completely incompetent. The facility was suddenly being run into the ground and we had no way to make things better so people started leaving. It was a nightmare. This kind of crap happens in every industry. You realize that people at the top of the ladders are usually completely useless and do far more damage then they are worth. Warren Buffet once said that he never understood why CEOs are paid what they are because they either have a slightly positive impact on a company or a very negative impact. Very few were ever actually worth their salary, there’s one Steve Jobs to every 10k Kathleen Kennedys

There were 1000 paths she should have walked and 999 of them lead to incredible success and billions of profit. She managed to find the 1 path out of 1000 that lead to the destruction of lucasfilm. These clowns are so out of touch that they actually believed the audience would accept (maybe even support or root for) a main character who’s completely insufferable, unlikeable and condescending, all without the benefit of being even remotely easy on the eyes. From what I’ve seen of her and read about her, I’d surmise that her outward appearance is a strong indication of what she’s like on the inside. BTW: setting aside for a moment what ultimately transpired, wouldn’t the mere act of sending planes through a Time Fissure back to 212 BC change the course of history in itself? Engineers from that time could’ve created quite a bit of havoc after getting their hands on the 60’s technology found in the wreckage of those planes. They could’ve created devices that would’ve caused mankind to take a huge technological leap that would’ve completely altered History.

As someone who grew up in the 70s and 80s I absolutely loved these franchises in a way that most younger people may not fully comprehend. You have to understand that back then we didn’t have internet or cellphones, and only had four or five TV channels. This isn’t a dig on today’s generation, but we generally had to rely on our imaginations. On cold, snowy days, I would pretend I was Han Solo on Hoth. In the Summer, my bicycle became a ROTJ speeder-bike. Cardboard Christmas paper rolls became lightsabers. An old cord became a bullwhip. Etc etc. It’s hard to overstate the emotional bond some of us had with these characters. Pajamas, curtains, lunchboxes…. We ate, lived, and breathed Star Wars and Indiana Jones. I say all of this to emphasize just how personally some of us are taking her treatment of our childhood heroes. It’s like a personal insult. I understand that Harrison is aging and needs to retire from these roles, but the INDIGNITY that she is putting them through, all apparently for the sake of her woke ideology, is infuriating. I also grew up watching great Disney shows like The Cat from Outer Space, Escape from Witch Mountain, Dragonslayer, etc. as well as many hand-me-down comics and books from the golden classic era, featuring Mickey, Donald, and the rest. Disney didn’t suck. They produced outstanding, family-friendly classics, and they set the gold-standard for high production-values and entertaining movies. Now they have sunk so low and milked their franchises so utterly that many hardcore comic/super hero and Star Wars fans aren’t even watching half of the crap that they are putting out. (I’ll probably never finish Andor or some of the last Marvel series shows). It’s disgusting and sad.

It was fun, actionpacked, and even though the deageing was a bit like watching a rubber mask, it was really on point for Harrison Ford - I hate that the knife had no fucking perpose other then being motivation for the first 20 minuts. - I hate the way they treated indy, like he is basically worthless - I hate that Phoebe could outsmart and outthink Indy several times. The movie is about Indy god damnit - I dont get why Phoebe is such a not kind person in the beginning, and suddenly cares about Indy - I wished they could have used Phoebe as motivation for indy, like she gets killed by someone, promting him to seek answers - I wished that they would have traveled back to 1939, and we could get younger versions of Indy and the nazis Someone pls get Kathleen Kennedy the hell out of Disney before she ruins every single franchise the company owns

What these companies and directors are doing to these franchises, trying to change their DNA to meet some aggenda, reminds me of a prank I saw a long time ago. They gave these kids these vanilla ice cream cones who were excited to have them. However, they were served mashed potatoes that was made to look just like ice cream. Obviously, they immediately spit out the potatoes making all sort of faces of disgust. That's what all these re-engineered franchises are experiencing right now. What's surprising is that Disney couldn't foresee their bait and switch being rejected so resoundingly.

Finally saw this movie, along with Rise of Skywalker, on a flight to Asia recently. I’ve watched some reviews, but nothing prepared me for the total emasculation of Indiana Jones. It was even more of a takedown than they managed to give Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi. I know the had plans to continue the series with Waller-Bridge being the focus, but I don’t see how after this movie. I found her thoroughly unlikeable. The writers and directors tried what seems to be a common mistake when they gender swap characters. They want the female character to still act just like the male character. Look at Jodie Whitaker as The Doctor. They had her play the role as a female version of David Tennant/Matt Smith instead of letting her play the role to fit Jodie Whitaker and it failed, rather spectacularly. Jodie Whitaker is not David Tennant, nor is Phoebe Waller-Bridge Harrison Ford. I don’t know what Waller-Bridge’s strengths are, but the writers didn’t play up any of them. Honestly, I thought I was watching Kathy Griffin ina wig.

There have already been attempts to modify classic works of art, and I don't mean remakes, I mean actual changes on old classics. Some of them have been successful on a level of removing Bad Words from new prints of old books etc. If things were allowed to take their course without any resistance, we would some day be in a situation where those original movies would not exist, at least not in the form that they once did. That is essentially what people like Kathleen Kennedy are aiming at. They want to completely hijack the work of others to the point where even the original work becomes theirs.

@@nkw1985 It's crazy that these companies can't even understand how to make a good movie anymore. Even worse is that Top Gun actually conveyed the messaging these newer movies spend the whole time cramming down our throats. It had diversity, everybody at the academy was on equal grounds and it didn't have any 'I'm better than you because of my gender/race' bs... How to normalize things? Act as if it IS NORMAL... That's how good "strong female characters" actually work, they act as if it's normal. The more time you spend talking/complaining about how people like you aren't in these positions (ironically while being in that position) or how you'll never get this/that opportunity, then all your doing is continuing the stereotype that people like you can't be in those positions or ever get that opportunity so don't even bother trying.... Also, it's almost comical at this point that the only solution hollywood/liberals have to all these problems is to just subject someone else to the same thing they claim IS the problem (i.e no more damsel in distress, instead man in distress. No more discriminating people based on being black/women, instead discriminate against people based on being white/man. And so on and so on)

Just watched the movie and was positively surprised in the beginning, during the castle and train scene. Then the story dropped of a cliff. One of the truly worst parts was when the German plane travelled back in time and the Nazis opened the door midflight to shoot with their handguns(!) at several hundred ships and thousands of soldiers below them in the sea. For what? That was absolutely insane. And the plane gets perfetcly hit by arrows. So instead of gaining altitude they get in range of everything only to see that shortly before Indi jumps out with his parachute that it is magically 10 times higher as before. This movie is a crime against the Indiana Jones franchise.

Everything about this review is spot on!! Especially the de-aged Indy that still walked and talked like an 80 year old. Plus, all the plot holes/dead ends: what happened to him being framed for murder and his bloody prints being on the phone? How did the arch villain guy survive that incident/injury on the speeding locomotive in the beginning? - no one could have. Thought they were going to explain it by having him had used the dial to go back in time to become a version of himself right before the incident, but nope, no explanation there. And most of all…when captured/wounded Indy was flying into the time fissure with the Nazi’s and he noticed bullets rolling through the cabin that made him think of “continental drift” and realized they would not be traveling to 1939 - the way he came to notice that and the immense emotion in his voice when urging them to abort mission confirms that this was intended to be the villain’s vital mistake, like choosing the wrong grail in The Last Crusade. However, when Indy and Helena land and speak to Archimedes, it’s revealed that the dial was designed as a “forced deck” by Archimedes as a cry for help and that it’s only capable of bringing them back to that one place in time, no matter how it’s used. And in the beginning of the movie, Indy explained how it could find time fissures in thunderstorms, but the scene in the ancient times was on a sunny, cloudless day - so how did they get back to the 70s so fast? And how much fuel did that little plane have? And who was the black chick? Was she an undercover agent? A villain with a moral compass? If so, why? This movie was clearly chopped up and re-written several times to improve the storyline, to no avail

@@apk4381 It's a paraphrase of his writings (Frodo says something similar about evil in Return of The King). One can argue that the quote is simply from a piece of fiction, but anyone that is familiar with Tolkien as a writer and person knows everything he wrote was rooted deeply in his own beliefs. So he may have never directly said it himself, but I think it's fair to say it's what he believed. That being said, we've all seen the quote 15 billion times on every video Nerdrotic has uploaded... we don't need to see it again.

I can tolerate a lot in these films, but what I will not stand for, is Indana Jones being afraid of any non-mythical creature other than snakes and (without bullwhip) Large predators. The brave character I think we all loved was the Fearless Indy who could brush the spiderwebs off of many a tomb, not the "Indiana $EFFIGY$" Who needs "L3-37" to brush off spiders while he whimpers like a beaten dog. 1/10

Another studio like Lionsgate simply has to offer Depp the role of a different pirate movie, and let Depp have total control of his character, and BOOM it would be like rebooting the pirates franchise as something new and Disney has no say in it. Would be an instant box office hit.

It's now being reported that there was as many as SIX different endings filmed and the good ones were axed by Kathleen Kennedy. One being that Indy would hop into a plane and fly off into the sunset and that as the plane was flying into the sunset Indy looks over and sees his father, recreated by way of Deep Fake or something like they did with Peter Cushing in Rogue One. Another ending apparently that was partially shot was where Helena and Indy walk up to a house, knock on the door and an older Short Round answers the door, hands Indy a map and says "Let's go.". Either of those would have been better than this colossal mess that is Indiana Jones and the Dildo of Disney.

Those 300M dollars could have fed the hungry. Could have stopped many violent attacks. Could have helped out nations. Instead, it went into creating this cancer for the eyes which nobody will watch. Yes, the original films were also costly, but they provide a smile and inspire millions not only in the US but in all countries. I'm from India and I practically grew up with Indiana Jones. Even though the temple of doom was banned in India due to hilarious misrepresentations(I mean did they confuse India with Wuhan? Most of India has vegetarian cuisine. It also had unnecessary colonial undertones especially coming from Spielberg who was a huge fan of Satyajit Ray and Indian cinema), I watched it many times. Was it entertaining? Hell yeah. Loved the legendary Amrish Puri as the villain.

Watched this film just a couple of days ago on Disney+, and oh boy, what a stinker. It really felt like Phoebe Waller Bridge and the Dial of Destiny (also staring Indiana Jones). Then there was the digital de-aging, that made the actors look like wax works with botox. The only saving grace is that I didn't pay a single penny for Disney+ subscription, but I feel sorry for anyone who paid to watch this turd the size of Everest in a movie theatre.
