I wish someone would mention the real story of the game. Before the Fever/Aces game today, Caitlin met with 14-year-old cancer survivor Bailey Lux. Bailey had also lost her mother to cancer. Bailey and Caitlin met while she was at University of Iowa children’s hospital. They met in 2022 when Lux was receiving treatments for MPNST. Clark and Kate Martin regularly visited the hospital and met Lux there. Clark spending time playing Mario Kart with her. The Make-a-Wish foundation sponsored Lux and her family to the game as her wish was to see Caitlin play in person. Bailey received an autographed jersey from the Aces and an autographed ball from the Fever. Clark said before the game, “This is what she spent her wish on. How cool is that.” Clark not only did volunteer work at the children’s hospital but at the local food bank, donating NIL money to keep it operating. When Clark was notified of getting AP player of the year, it was at the Children’s Hospital. Why, because she’s there visiting sick kids. It’s not just because of her great play that people like Clark. It’s because of the unbelievably kind person that she is.

Caitlin is having trouble with her shooting right now. Very unusual for her. She also complained of a migraines. She also had a ruptured eardrum that can cause vertigo and balance problems that can seem very similar to migraines. Positional vertigo can be set off by movement, both physical and visual. it can be set off by sounds coming from different directions. It is something that doesn't respond well to trying to push through it. Often, laying down to rest or having the head in a particular position might make it worse. Hopefully, trainers and doctors are considering that as a possibility so if it is a cause of the problem, it can be healed properly to ensure that there are no chronic issues going forward.

The pain in Clark's face is obvious. She is not used to losing and she won't accept losing. Unfortunately, she joined a team that has had a losing culture for a long time now. It's a process, one that most #1 picks have to go through, but I trust that she'll figure it out, somehow. Whether or not the organization puts the right pieces around her to take that next step is a huge question mark, though. A losing culture is difficult to change, especially if you keep 99% of the pieces that were responsible for that losing culture.

I feel that Indiana played well and like I said before, there will be ups and downs. Indiana should draw up specific plays for Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark. The rest of the team has to learn how to make the shots off of the incredible passes by Caitlin, if they miss their shots, then the pass is not valid. Another skill that the Fever should develop is the catch and shoot so as not to give the other team time to contest the shots. Otherwise, even though Indiana loss, it is still a positive. This team will only get better over time. Look at the small amount of time they have and they have already improved! Caitlin, if you see your teamates have an off night, take the bull by the horns and get more aggressive offensively and don't pass so much.

Sides is a big fat liar! Said she would get the technicals, but I haven’t seen her hardly question any calls or fight for her players, doesn’t use the challenge the team has each game. Then, said CC needed to take 15 shots & they needed to figure out ways to get CC good looks, but where were the screens tonight to facilitate that? And I still call BS on why she pulled CC in the last 2 minutes of the Mercury game.

During the practice that was the day after Caitlin won the Honda award for the second consecutive year, the Coach was asked what she said to Caitlin about this huge accomplishment. Coach said she hadn't even said anything about it to Caitlin yet! How do you not even acknowledge such a UNIQUE accomplishment immediately upon seeing your star rookie?! Sides has to go. She is not in tune with Clark, and Clark is the franchise. For some reason ownership can't admit that Clark is franchise. Clark is going to be ruined as an offensive player by the end of the year at this rate. You did not draft her for assists. Look what happens to star college quarterbacks who have bad NFL coaching. It only takes one bad coach one year to ruin them. Ultimately this comes down to an ancient owner (Simon is 89) and an ancient GM (Dunn is 77) who are in over their heads.

The first 3 quarters were competitive, but Sides let it slip away in the 4th. She should have called a time-out when they were down 9 instead of down 15. By then it was too late. Also Sides needed to intervene when Plum went on her hot streak. They needed to face guard and double team Plum to shut her down. Sadly CC was still not getting good screens from her teammates and few open looks, her low % came from being heavily guarded by Plum and double teamed. That is also on Sides. Fever need to fire Sides at the break.

Note to the Fever Coach. I can't understand why there is no inside-out game plan. Ball goes into Boston, Caitlin runs to a spot and gets a pass from Boston (3 pointer) or pass back to Boston with re-establishment. Caitlin can't hit the 3's because she is covered and rushed. They need to free her up and give her more time. Most every time the ball goes inside it does not come out and when it does it certainly does not go to Caitlin. I am shocked this has not been worked out. There are numerous times when a team member gets it in the paint they force it up even when they are covered (bad shot). Pass the ball out.

What did you think they were just gonna roll over teams because CC is there. A couple good free agents and another decent player from the draft this team can be very very good. Look the Aces have the best player in the league. A’Ja right now is the best player. Chelsea Grey is a premier point guard. Seen her in person she is huge. Kelsey Plum is pretty damn good there bench comes in and contributes. Hell Boston could not start for this team. I rather see CC help this team to a championship. Which may very well happen before free agency hits. Also beg for her to leave all you want she is under contract period!!! She can’t go anywhere. Not for 3 1/2 more years anyways.

#12 brings more to the table than Celeste Taylor? Pity. Rough game against the Champs. Where is Lexi? Sides need to go. You don't wait for a team to go on a 10-0 run then call time out. Damn shame.

When a player shooting is on a hot streak, you should change defenders, face guard them and not leave them for help defense or double team them at time. Anything to disrupt their flow. Coach Sides' defense approach to Plum's hot shooting was atrocious and clueless, if they limit Plum to her usual 16 to 20 points, , Fever may had a shot to win.

Skipped the sides beginning, went to the players. I just want to ask: who is holding hc accountable?? 77 year old GM dunn? The ancient, detached owner? No fan of the Fever I know thinks she is qualified to handle this unprecedented situation. Consider other options before next season, at the very least!

Nothing was working for the Fever. Smith missed 6 out 7 FT's. Nobody could shoot, catch or pass. There was a point in the 3Q/4Q where every shot the Fever took ... missed. It seemed like an eternity, but it was actually about 6-8 minutes of game time. Aces went on to a 10 - 0 run. Coach Sides has no idea how to run plays for Caitlin Clark to be able to get open. Screens for CC are weak, almost non-existent. Coach Sides has to be replaced if this team is going to be consistent, successful. CC needs plays designed to get her open. Reminds me of the famous quote about MJ in college… “The only person able to keep Jordan under 30 per game was Dean Smith.” This game was hard to watch. It's clear that if the Fever want to play up to their potential they need to #FireChristieSides I hear Bluder is available...
