Sleeper coach is not safe but it is so nostalgic to me ,it was a lifeline to middle class people away from their home states until mid 2010's . Most middle class now travel in AC coaches or economy flight , that's what I noticed around me, but sleeper coaches are dear to my heart , people were geniuine , friendships were made for a few days but it felt so real , the sharing of food , the vendors with their trinkets , the changing of landscapes and climates .So many good memories Ps: my parents worked in punjab but we are from kerala , so it was a long journey.

@@Zenitsu_love people in those states never abides by the law, no matter the time of the day whether be it 3 AM or 3PM people will board the train in sleeper/ reservation compartments even if they have general tickets or without tickets even if it is for 2 stops only, they just doesn't care. And it's not that they will try to accommodate or care for those whose seats are booked, they will literally exude force and even fight with you to let them sit on your seat/bunk. Even if it's 3 AM in the night they just doesn't care and will wake you up and sit on your leg and body literally. And mobile or chain snatches are also common in Bihar and eastern UP regions inside trains. In those region in sleeper classes also people will sit in front of your leg there will be no space left for you to put your leg and in a seat for 3 they will squeeze you and forcefully sit 6 or 7 people. They will argue with you and even say things like " yeh bihar hain, next stop ane de, tereko dikhata hoo" I have literally seen people fight physically and a group of guys snatching one person out of the train and fight him and ripped his shirt apart and the guy had bruises all over his body amd the TT will do nothing but stare and try to make them understand. People will also sit above you hanging their leg which is touching your head and if you say it to them they don't listen and say things like "payr dukh rha hain" or "bachcha hi toh hain, kya hua". They will eat throughout the journey and spread it everywhere. Absolutely no "tameez".

It's amazing how you know the exact reason for the non-reservation passengers sleeping on floor. Also, one of the other reason is caz they did got the tickets but their tickets didn't got a confirmed seats due to which they can travel the distance but they are not allowed any seats. Sometimes, if the seats gets vacant when some passangers get down on their stations , they can talk to the ticket master if they can be allotted the seats for the rest of the journey, this is some of the main reasons people take the risk of having to sleep on floor to reach their destination on time.😅hope this helps
