Indian Scout: First Complete Teardown!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
💭 This would mostly be a trivial job.. not too many surprises, but I would run into a ridiculous issue with removing the exhaust. Not that I couldn't get it loose, more on clearing the front frame. I have no reason to believe the frame is bent. Spent a lot of time on it, but this job took right at 12 hours. If we add the front end work (triples, wheel, forks), maybe 12 1/2 hrs. The front end came off trivial besides the bent tubes. Also, I did not start with a sub frame or rear fender so maybe... another 15 minutes. That stuff isn't hard to take off.
With the frame in pieces, I'd be getting these parts off to power coating for a hopeful.. less than two week return to rebuilding this.

the exhaust headers aren't meant to be removed at the same time. You need to take the heat shield off so you can separate the two pipes

Thanks for this! I'll remember this if I ever change my exhaust lol
Oh the mistakes I made. Was a long day messing with this Scout 🫠
🤪 I believe that talking to and answering ourselves at times is totally acceptable and necessary!! Sometimes it’s the most intelligent conversation that we can get! Another awesome video BB! 🧐🤣😂👍
Beast of a video! The only other thing that must of taken as long was editing this video 😂 This series has been my favorite past time content. As someone who’s going to school for working on power-sports, these videos have been the fuel to my fire as I continue acquiring my AAS degree. Keep inspiring us Brandon. Thanks for all you do!

Thanks for tagging along, Fam!
Yo just found you cause I’m researching the scout for my first bike! I’m an AutoGlass technician and I struggle in the fight against engineers everyday and I felt it in my soul when you realized why that rad had to come out. Keep it up man love the content 👊
I know that you are probably already done with the scout, but..... Take the heat shields off and then you can take the exhaust pieces apart. It will go on sooooo much easier. Then just get hose clamps to put the heat shields back on.

Yeah, I'm used to removing the exhaust complete. First time I'd have to take the heat shields off. Good thing that frame is no longer a thing on the new Scout : )
The price of tools can be expensive but I believe that having a good quality air compressor and air tools will help make your tasks easier and faster compared to regular hand tools. The only slight downside is the noise the air tools make. Also, it would be a great investment in my opinion. 🤔 👍
It's not just Indian that calls a set screw a screw. A screw is different from a bolt. A screw has a thread along the entire length whereas a bolt has a shank. The bolt would be stronger where the shank is correct for the thickness of material.
Sometimes having an additional floor jack to help with the weight distribution. I had to do that working on my rear end of my bike….just a thought
"I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took a frame to the knee". Better to take a frame to the knee then have it hit the ground. Also, I'm pretty sure you can pull the pipes apart when you install them to get them in there easier.

Fair.. My knee was not happy for a good while.
Taking lots of stuff off often saves me so much time. I have worked so much so much harder just trying to be lazy.
Awesome mate keep up the great work ... like the channel taught me alot ...cheers
Well we've come this far we might as well put that Big Bore Kit on that motor so it can compete with the new Indian Scout
Great video
Hi Brandon, lets do it. 😊

The down pipes I believe the do split making for easy removal, enjoying the strip down are you going to do anything to the engine ?

Nope, no engine work.
When putting the radiator and oxygen sensors back in.... BE EXTRA CAREFUL that the wires are not pinched. Yes, I had to buy a new O2 sensor as a result.

Oof.. will watch out for that.
Lieber Klassiker also ohne wasserkühler Maschine, weil da ist etwas viel einfacher.
