Indian Scout Bobber; Lets Talk About Tires

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Tires are the number one most important part of any vehicle. In this video, I discuss my experiences with the standard Pirelli MT06 tires vs my new Michelin Commander III tires on the Indian Scout Bobber and why you should upgrade and never look back.

    Totally agree! I was at 3200 miles on the Kenda tires when I replaced them. Needless to say there was still plenty of life on them. I bought the Michelin Commander III Cruisers and WOW, night and day difference. Perform much better, stick to the road better. Absolutely love them!

    Hi Jim, I love your videos. Thank you for this information about tires. I think it’s going to be very helpful. I just recently purchased the scout twenty. It has the front and rear chunky tires. I’m thinking about changing the front to the rogue wheel possibly. For easier handling in corners. Also side question. What kind of gloves are you wearing in this video? I love them.

    Interesting video. Michs are no doubt fine tires. I have a Mich 190/55 ZR17 at the rear of my '17 Yammy FZ-10 throwing out ~155/rwhp. The BHP is a useless figure unless every bike on the planet is tested using the exact same dyno and environment. I've recently purchased a new 2022 Indy Rogue and has the stock Metzeler Cruisetec 150/80B16 77H at the rear and they're not "phenomenal" but sufficient enough to wrap myself around a tree or two at 125mph. Ride safe.

    Yo Jim, my bobber is in transit to the dealer right now. I see you run drag bars with the 1920 seat not sure if you’ve got risers on them. I’ve sat on a comfort seat and the riding position felt good, is the 1920 solo going to put me too high? I put the 1920 solo seat on with the regular stock bars for now just wanted to know if the seat was going to change my riding position much or not.

    Hey Jim....WOW!! I Now know what you're saying....before I ordered my Bobber I sat on both a standard Scout with the Street style tires and a Full blown Bobber ABS with the ATS Tires and noticed that the standard Scout with street tires was sooo much easier to move and steer on the Dealership floor ( Didn't test ride) but Noticed a huge difference which is of course the subject of your Video. I too thought that it was the Smaller Engine, the Standard Mini ape bars and the lighter weight which made the steering differences between the two feel night & day !!! NOW I KNOW It was the Tires!!! BUT DAMN IT JIM....I HAVE A PROBLEM!!! PLEASE don't shake your head ok?? PROMISE??? MAN I LOVE....LOVE The Bad Ass Mean Aggressive Beefy Look of the Enduro style tires!!!! So much so my plan WAS....When the Michy's took a crap....to "UPGRADE" to the even more Aggressive Shinko Mobber ATS tires..... much like our Instagram friends Army Green Scout.... "701 Raptor" which eventually made my mind up on ordering my Scout Bobber! Also...I do not ride long distance or highways any longer....but instead Do what the Bobber does best...CRUISE the Local scenic Jersey Shore roads...So Although I COMPLETELY Get what your saying and am even INTRIGUED a bit to chang to the Commander's when the time comes....theres that little guy on my shoulders telling me that I may not " Look" at my Bobber in the same way. So Its gonna come down to what I WANT.... What is more important to me....Looks vs Sacrificing driveability.

  • @Jimbobbington

    @Jimbobbington

    2 жыл бұрын

    Totally understandable! The knobby look is super cool in its own way, but you do sacrifice agility. I was simply surprised at the difference, but there's no wrong answer. Everything in life is about making some sort of sacrifice to get exactly what you want!

So Thanks....I have PLENTY of time to decide what my next tire choice will be....as I rack up the miles....what will become more important....the Looks...or the Practicality of performance..so chalk this video up to GENIUS on the " "Was this video helpful to you??" Rating !! 👍

    That's probably because your fuel is measured in RON and US unleaded is measured differently. I believe 95 RON is similar to our 91 octane and 98 RON similar to 93 octane. They don't give us 93 octane in places at elevation for some reason. The claim is the extra octane is unnecessary at elevation for some reason. I live at ~6700 ft above sea level.
