I started losing my hair when I was 23. The mental stress was unimaginable in the beginning. Most people I knew started making fun of me or treated me like I was a different person. Then I completely shaved off my head. I'm purpose driven now, and I don't easily get intimidated because I take whatever life throws at me. The same people that made fun of me now respect me because I ended up becoming an artist. People will look for every opportunity to make you feel less of a man, never take it personally. Everybody is suffering in some way or the other. Don't be hard on yourself for something that is outside of your control. A lot of people don't have a lot of things. Appreciate the gift of life. Embrace the change and be a good human being.

Am 24 and I started losing hair since I was 20. In the past one year, I lost 80% of my hair from the crown part. Now I look like a 34 year old guy. Most of my cousins call me uncle. Many of my friends call me grandfather. As am a govt job aspirant, many of my relatives ask me, ' what will I do with a job now since I lost all my hair?' 'who will marry me?' and all those shit. And ofcourse, some of my relatives keep reminding me that I've gone bald during public gatherings or family gatherings, as if I didn't know that am going bald. And because of this, my confidence has dropped beyond zero. I avoid facing people of my age. I avoid going outside with friends and group. I try to stay alone as much as I can. because I have no confidence left. The more I try to accept myself, the more the people let me down. Still surviving with the hope that when I get a job, I'll move away from these toxic people. When I look back, just two three years back, I cry for myself seeing what I was and what I am now. Society is leaving no stone unturned to make me feel even worse. But am optimistic that times will change. I'll find a society which will accept me in a way that I am and that will appreciate me for my talent and not my hair. Just need some motivation and confidence 🙂

And things like body dysmorphia are real and serious illnesses. I look at zac Efron, who was a really beautiful guy, yet when you look at him nowadays, he clearly had some extensive plastic surgery done to his jaw, cheek bones and face altogether, making him, in my opinion, much less attractive and looking like a decade older. People need to understand just because you feel comfortable with your shaved head that doesn't mean others feel it too, as a person who is experiencing severe hair fall (myself included) and many other options have failed, this seems like a good solution. if you haven't been on dutasteride for over a year, with micro needling & finasteride applications as well, it'd be foolish to go for a hair transplant. inversely if those last few things didn't work for you, it would be foolish to undergo a transplant as your scalp will certainly reject them. also, after the hair transplant surgery you'll have to be on dutasteride for the rest of your life to keep what you gained. Good luck

Personal feelings are overrated. People regretting decisions after making them is indicative of that. You dont really know what you need, you just get what you want and chances are you feel no change. Your confidence is dependent on something arbitrary. Focus on hair loss will not stop when you get a hair transplant. At best, it will shift for a while. At worst it will extend. To the nose. The chubby stomach. The crooked nose. The droopy eyes. The saggy skin. You get the idea. The only reason this hair transplant method is advertised as is, is because it seems benign in the hands of a professional and with decent outcome. So the bar is low to do it and all you need is some money. We can see the travesty of this reality in the video. Men who objectively have worse physical features than their balding head are getting hair plugs. I understand it, but it's dumb. When you are old and saggy, or just ugly, getting the best hair ever wont do anything. Something that needs to be minded, you cannot just get hair plugs and that's the fix. First off, you need to be aware that you will have to repeat the procedure several times, about every 5-15 years. Plus, almost every MD will tell you, you need to get on meds. Because otherwise your hair loss will just continue (except the spots with the transplanted hair). Which will look even worse then before. So you need to take finasteride or minoxidil, possibly both forever, and when you stop hair loss will kick in quick.

Good looking people didn't deserved it. They're just born like that. In the same way, people that society don't consider good looking didn't decide to be born with that aspect. We have come this far in our life where we need to please our society about how we live. People might deny it but its true that what we do, we do it to please others even if it's not comfortable. We wear tight clothes which we later on change with comfortable clothes when no one is around. Just like people undergo plastic surgeries to look good for others. Why do we care so much what others think about us? It's the perspective we have created. People will comment no matter what you do. If I am shorter than the average good looking height, will I change my height and undergo dangerous surgery to please others so that they will compliment me that i am tall and handsome. A big No. So stop pleasing others and live your life as you want to. What if you are bald? No problem. Just be a good human being, that's what is important. I started going bald at 19 and I have been shaving my head now for 27 years. Bald is beautiful! People need to learn that being different is OK. I also agree this was very poor production for Vice
The bigger issue is self esteem - I am Indian, and I lost my hair early in my late 20s. Initially I panicked but the sooner I embraced it and just shaved my head - I’ve never looked back. I feel more confident - as people should embrace you the way you are. Personal insecurity if you feel judged being bald - I’ve learned this in hindsight. As they say “rock what your momma gave ya”.

Was going bald at 21, wore toupee for a year, really got tired of it and just didn't feel real. Started shaving my head and grew a goatee. Best decision I ever made. I feel free and no more shampooing.
I improved my hair by doing these: Having more and more Vitamin C in form of orange, lemon, and kiwi fruit, 7-8 hrs of enough sleep everyday, have nuts such as almonds, walnuts, or peanuts in limited, you can also have fish like salmon. Exercise a minimum of 20 - 30 mins everyday. Using organic shampoo, neem wooden comb, scalp massager by Littleextra Cooconion two times a week. All this is good to control hair fall.

If anyone reading this, my personal experience to slow down hair fall in very early stage: I started loosing hair in 2 nd year of clg due to hereditary problem 1st thing i did was shaving off my hair I shave my hair at least twice a year sometimes more After shaving I start oiling my scalp(any natural oil coconut, mustard, amla etc) Use dermaroller once in a day or two and after that oiling Stopped using shampoo and gel shampoo only like once in 2 months Cause in my experience: less blood flow in the scalp area, DHT , pollution and change of water Its been 6-7 years and after comparing my old pics i can say i slowed down hair fall dramatically
@jand2126

Thanks for sharing your own experience. It's important to start early, but also not to have unrealistic expectations. I am also struggling with this problem. I've started sleeping better, eating better, stressing less, eliminated sugar - affecting blood circulation (I used to eat a lot of it before and that's when the hair loss increased), I bathe in cold water twice a week and most importantly I use a daily scalp massage along with a conditioner to improve circulation in the scalp.(anwen grow us tender) and I also use onion juice (I plan to change to onion oil or rosemary oil or similar to block DHT) . I don't recommend onion juice if someone is not shaved very short - it's hard to get rid of the smell(there are ways on the internet how to get rid of the smell but I haven't tested their effectiveness). After 12 months I can see the results, they are not some big but visible. It is worth trying...

Don't let your weakness be exploited by anyone
As someone in their 60’s I can tell U that n the grand scheme of things losing your hair is a hurdle but it doesn’t need to be debilitating. Debilitating is losing your ability to see or walk or live a healthy life due to chronic illness. Ultimately U have to find your true self from within not from outside. I cannot control the world but I can control myself and my own perception about myself. As someone who hates myself when I was young because I didn’t look like people I knew, I learned to improve on the good qualities I possessed and as I started to look at the world differently, the world looked and treated me with respect and admiration. The world is a really big place and as I expanded my environment I learned that for the most part people are not focusing on you they r focusing on themselves. Consider that Losing your hair is not the worse thing that can happen to u n life but despondency over your hair loss is detrimental to your mental and physical health. It is hard going through the world hating yourself so stop.
When my hair started thinning out, I decided to go bald all the way. I've never looked back!
It’s always shocking to hear about someone outside of girls dying for plastic surgery. Maybe more will actually be done about social media and media contributing to self hated and body dysmorphia.

I'll be going for a transplant in 2 months. Whatever happens, happens. There are many comments here about people losing their hair in their 20s, but in real life, it's very rare. As I'm going through this in my 20s, I feel completely alone. Everyone around me in my age group has a full head of hair while I have this pathetic excuse of a hairline. I haven't met a single person in my age group going through the same thing that I am. I find these types of videos so enlightening. Especially as an African American. Especially when it comes to how to ones appearance in many cultures is a precursor to social acceptance, professional acceptance, marriage and job prospects. Its like it doesn't matter how kind you may be.Or how intelligent you may be.But African Americans have been told their social rejection, whether in public spaces and social and professional circles, has nothing to do with appearance. But the perception of the potential for future misdeeds. Either that they might partake in.Or from others that might look like them. Our families tell to us brace up.Shrug it off.Strength comes from adversity, the elders used to say.So me personally I have never been too concerned about my appearance. Because there is nothing I can do to remove any negative stereotypes or perceptions. The best i can do is maintain my personal hygiene and make sure that i am neatly dressed. I am under no pressure to enhance my physical appearance for better marriage or job prospects. There is no pressure to get married and have children. So here i am as an elderly man who still works. But i wear my receding hairline and gray hair as a badge of honor. I have felt this way since reaching the age of 50 way back when. But the truth is we are all social animals .Some of us will go through the pain just to be accepted and to fit in.

This is similar to many other weird procedures that people go for these days, botch, facial, lengthening, implants, pump, etc
The last doctor did a good design and he actually did the procedure so that's. A good sign . Now it all depends how dense the hairs will be and if they were of good quality
Having great hair > shaving your head >>>>>>> having shitty hair/balding Go bald guys, you'll be fine. I was stressed for a few years 24x7 because my hair looked practically scorched and male pattern baldness. Saying fuck it and shaving my head was a such a relief. Like a huge burden got lifted from my shoulders. Dont get me wrong, i do wish i still had my hair.. I had great hair up till a point. But then it stopped being great and age and genetics kicked in. It was a very depressing time. I wouldn't want that for anybody. I also think more male Indian celebrities need to endorse their balding. If every khan is getting a hair transplant then of course it subconsciously makes the viewer feel like their is something wrong with them/they are not attractive if the don't have hair. And perhaps there is truth to this.. You might not be appealing to a certain demographic of women anymore but trust me, there will be a whole another demographic that opens up that is not represented on TV.

I thank Hollywood, likes of Jason Statham for rocking his bald look. Also i used to live in Canada where the male beauty is decided not by hair but body posture, fitness, manliness, jawline , face symmetry etc
$15,000 for 3,000 grafts in Houston; my neighbor just got his receeding hairline done.
As i m also facing baldness in my 20s i have just detached from my hair and put my self respect on other aspects of my life like my skills my body etc I think that is a better way of living life
You know, $1200 - $3000 is not THAT much when you think about it. My gaming PC was around that price range, so it's not worth risking your life just to save a few hundred dollars.
Indian men aren't risking their lives. The procedure is tried, tested, safe very popular now, our doctors are highly competent and today science has come far enough to solve all these problems at a decent rate. So it's up to the individual as to what he wants to do...
