In my previous you may have watched my visit to UNESCO World Heritage Shirvanshah Palace , which comes under Old city of Baku also known as Icherishehar. After visiting from Shirvanshah Palace of Baku old city Azerbaijan we went back to our Host Art studio where we ate Azeri style Chicken made by our Host Mr. Namiq , Later in vlog we visited Flame towers of Baku Azerbaijan.
Welcome to the new vlog episode 5 of Azerbaijan series , me & my host met with an Indonesian girl at Shirvanshah Palace which you may have watched in my previous vlog Episode 4 of Azerbaijan. So she was invited again to an Art Studio place where I stays in old city of Baku Azerbaijan.
I wake up very early in morning around 3:30 am but went to Shower at wrong time around 10:45 am which collided with the coming time of our Host and Indonesian girl too . Because of my mistake they stayed for almost 15 mins outside of the gate , I really feel bad about that . Anyways as soon as our host comes he went inside kitchen to cook breakfast for us , he fried eggs with tomato , the dish named as Pomidor Yumarta in Russian language.
After having hearty breakfast we started our tour first of all visited Miniature Book of Museum which comes in old city of Baku Azerbaijan. This Museum is completely free and also holds Guiness World of Records for having maximum number of miniature books around 2900 . Our next stop was to see & experience metro trains & metro stations of Baku Azerbaijan which is also great thing to do in Baku Azerbaijan. We started our journey from Icherishehar metro station which was renovated in 2008 , such a beautiful metro station it is .
Metro in Azerbaijan was started in 1967 by Soviet Union . If you are travelling through Metro or Buses in Baku Azerbaijan it must to carry Bakucard with you because cash or some other cards don’t work for Metro & Buses of Metro . Metro ride is very cheap in Baku Azerbaijan only costs .20 Azn or 10 INR from any metro to any metro station you can transit through.
The Escalators of Baku Azerbaijan is such a crazy experience which you don’t miss for . It’s completely followed through single Escalators , when you will go for to catch metro ride from Metro station Entrance point , it will make you feel you are going deep into some well or beautiful dig .
The metro at Icherishehar is of soviet style kind old metro . Icherishehar metro station falls on red line of Metro network of Baku Azerbaijan. There are in total 27 metro stations in Baku Metro rail project currently. Our host wants us to show Nizami Metro station which is really very beautiful. Name of this metro station was kept by the famous Romantic poet Nizami Ganjavi who was born in Ganja , Azerbaijan.
Later we reached at 28 May metro station . The name 28 May is very important day in history of Azerbaijan because on May 28 , 1918 , it was declared by country Azerbaijan that its going to make ADR ( Azerbaijan Democratic Republic ) . Azerbaijan became first country in Muslim World to become secular & also first country in Muslim World to give equal political rights to the women & results is in front of us , how open & free people seems to be here .
At last we visited the mall followed by the currency exchange, i exchanged 40 dollars in return I have got 70 Azn ( 1 Azn is equal to 50 Inr ) , such a big currency is of Azerbaijan.
