Kohli tends to get hate for a variety of reasons. One, he beats you. And he does it unapologetically, without the meek humility and quietness that English and Australian fans want of a brown person. There's certainly a racist undercurrent in some hatred of Kohli, because he doesn't fit the mold of a submissive Indian. Another reason is his aggressive approach on the field, he will not back down, he won't take any bullying of himself or any player on his side, and he'll be the guy who'll punch you back harder and outsmart you, and you not only feel defeated, you feel humiliated for not having successfully bullied him. There's no reason to go after Yas for disliking Kohli -- he doesn't have to like Kohli and he doesn't have to meet any standard that a white British native wouldn't have to meet. He's British, and his skin color or ethnic origins have nothing to do with his opinions. You can hate him for hating Kohli much like many other people, including many Indians who are diehard fans of other players, but it's shameful on the part of those in the comment section going after Yas for "trying to be British" etc. He's British. He supports the English team. Get over it.

Partly agreed. But you must understand that people are going after Yash's incompetence as the host of a cricket podcast of an esteemed magazine. He is expected to have a more balanced and tempered opinion than the average British. Besides, you have Mark Butcher, someone who's quintessentially British, handling the naivety of Yash with class. It's a public platform, One is expected to be judged and be given blunt feedbacks.

You like or dislike Kohli, he plays his heart out even though he is going through a rough patch with his batting. Test match is always entertaining with few banters and aggressiveness on the field. People crave these things and reminisce at some point later.

Kudos to Ben for being the only person of the million and a half people who have talked about the game to have noticed the faith that Kohli had in Siraj in bowling the junior most bowler in the last 10 overs with 3 wickets to go...that was quite crucial. To say it was edge-of-seat, nail-chewing pressure at home would be an understatement.

Should title your podcast "Salty and Jelly about Kohli".. Get over yourselves, FFS...

Different people have different ways of expressing aggression. Kohli is being true to who he is and we love him for it and are proud of him. Yas Rana is rather easily irritated I think, he should just make sure it wasn't leftover irritation from looking at his own face in the mirror in the morning. Plenty of material there believe me.

Kohli is a captain who won't let his single player get bullied let alone the whole team. As KL said" If you will go for one our player, all 11 of us will go for you ".

Its not about Kohli marshaling or fashioning a one off victory, its about the attitude and the belief he and the management have instilled in this Indian cricket team, such that we feel like world beaters every time we step on the field. That's how good teams are built. Prime examples are pre-2008 Australia and England in the early and mid 2010s. He has helped bring in a change in culture, belief and intensity in the team which started from that 2018 England tour where India could have won every one of those matches going into Day 4 and 5. Some views on this video are pretty narrow. India are right now the most professional cricket team in the world, they are the most fierce and one of 2 or 3 teams keeping test cricket alive, TBH. Barring Root, England look India from the 90s, toothless and rudderless.

Root is Tendulkar playing for India back in 90's and 2000's. Only a matter of time bowlers target him to get him out cheaply, because they know rest of the team is pretty ordinary. And this is something I noticed first time in this series in 4th Innings, where they wanted to get Root out cheaply. I believe this is gonna more often in rest of the matches. This English team will struggle to cross 200.

I'm sure India wouldn't have bowled them out in 9 out of the 10 circumstances if England didn't get too emotional and had all the stupid antics and drama while bumrah was batting. Kohli was looking for someone to create problems and bring fire into this strong bowling squad and once he got it there's no one better in exploiting it . Joker rana might wanna check Kohli's captaincy record. He s 4th highest successful captain in the history of the game. You don't become that just by having a god team (which kohli built). Gosh can't even comprehend role of the captain in cricket and boasts of being a host.

Man Sam Curran was the MAN OF THE SERIES last time, and these guys are just writing him off. 🤦.Remove post 2019wc from Stokes's career , he's the one who was smashed for 4 sixes( wc final) , with a pretty average record. PS- I'm only considering tests and ODIs. In T20s , his batting avg is 20 ( with zero 50s), bowling avg is 37, economy of nearly 9. Whereas Sam,who is just 23, is way better. If you guys handle him properly, he can be very lethal in English conditions.🤡

Root Made 2 Centuries in 2 Test but Still lost a test match by keeping 6 fielders on boundary for tail enders 8 and 9 batting, while Kohli made no centuries but still won a test, so guess who's better. Not a great comparison to Butch’s era as Ramps played 52 tests and averaged 27, Hick played 65 and averaged 31, Nasser played 96 and averaged 37 (but was more like 34 or 35 till he had his eye surgery) and Butch himself played 71 and averaged 35. In fact, throughout Butch’s era the only players I can think of who averaged well (40ish) was Thorpy, Athers (at the start of his career), Stewart and Tresco.

180 would have been enough...and England had no chance, stop living in fool paradise.

Exactly. The reality is Root was just damn tired with fielding and batting with no rest. He knew he was gonna get out cheaply that's why he went defensive. It's just common sense that he was out on the field for entire 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and the 4th day meanwhile rest of the English team was lying drunk in their whiskey and beer.

Kohli is good for test cricket, sadly same cannot be said about English Batsmen

Kohli is in your face and that's why most Aussies or English fans don't like him. Because that is not they are used to seeing from an Indian team. Yes he goes overboard at times but we in India absolutely love it when England or Aussies try to intimidate Indian team and then have nowhere to hide when Kohli gets fired up.

Ashwin in place of Ishant. That's the only change India will make. England will have 3, Malan in for Sibley, Overton in for Curran, Saqib in for Wood
