In India, if we promote spirituality then we are labelled as right-wingers, if same knowledge is introduce via western painting, then it is modern science. This video will be a big slap on these so called secularists.

There seems to be relatively better acknowledgement of Buddhist thought & sources by westerners, as opposed to when they appropriate knowledge from the more wide-ranging & richer Hindu traditions. This is presumably because there is no core centralized narrative or authority for Hinduism (and the western psyche is more attuned to prophets & single-sourced spiritual systems due to their Abrahamic background). It is tragic that while the unacknowledged (& un-credited) mining and appropriation of Indian knowledge has been going on for centuries, the Indian state & its peoples are now too busy aping the western model rather than projecting, protecting & cultivating the incredible, priceless assets of their own civilization. Unlike China, India unfortunately has to dissipate most of it energies fighting forces of external interventions and distorted historical legacies that are breaking it apart (like Kashmir issue, caste / Dalit disaffection politics, manipulative NGOs with Xtian conversion agendas, resurgent radical Islamist forces, strengthening communist / naxal agendas, hyped up gender inequalities, artificially instigated aryan / brahmin / dravidian fissures etc.). This leaves no room to focus on more nationalistic & strategic narratives. The Indian model of "secular democracy" keeps the nation going around in circles, rather than move forward productively on a civilizational scale.

Also note the fact that to secularize the Budhhism they discredit the religious aspect saying it was brought by "Brahmins", this could lead to the creation of a Brahminism in Budhhism kind of propaganda, already in the south India "Tamil Nadu" to be specific, Vedas are discredited by local population saying it was brought by Brahmins who were aryans, so in essence the Indian thought is being exported, monetized while the local indian source is being killed, just like during colonization when the local industries were shipped to west and India was de-Industrialized.

slomoy2k This is sadly very true. We are caught up in this secular politics so much, that even having a Hindu BJP party at Centre, we have failed to bring any major reforms in education, setting up centres for such identity studies etc. I believe the solution is to not concentrate too much on the short term secular politics, but the government has to become bold and take some long term, not electorally gainful(at least in the short term) steps

We can only start understanding all this once we are taught Sanskrit in school. Taught in the same manner and importance as English. If I can read and write in English, then why not Sanskrit. It has to a demand our younger generation makes to our government. And maybe have Sunday Sanskrit Schools all over India, for those adults who want to go back to school and learn Sanskrit.

Though his shoes are super mega big, we must attempt at taking minute portions of his research, based on our temperament and ability and back him up. We all can do more to support him at different levels. Let us stretch a bit more.

Excellent research. Brilliant investigative work exposing the abuse and cover up of original Asian sources due to racial prejudice - Greek thought is always credited in the West, Asian thought is never credited and thus academic fraud is being committed on a large scale. This video is so valuable also because it: 1. Clarifies India as the origin of the influential field of the mind sciences; and 2. Drives forward the goal of human unity by showing us the link between nations that have created the modern mind sciences: the origin (India); the various phenomena (the West).

On Sam Harris' argument "The tenets of Christianity are not used in the formulation of Newtonian physics." This is wrong. Newton's model of time is derived from Christianity, which had a ban on circular time. C.K.Raju describes this very clearly about the whole theology of calculus that was induced by Newton. All later modifications by Einstein, Le Maitre, and Hawking are all theories to fix the holes that were created by Newton. But all of these fit to the Biblical dogma. The Indian models of time are far more aligned to scientific observations, as they were 1000 years ago as they are now. They don't conflict with quantum mechanics. There is a fundamental battle in physics against Dharmic notions of time.

While lack of humility may be the carrot that lures modern authors to claim ancient knowledge as their own; even though, as Rajiv Malhotra points out, it is against the tenants of their 'science'.. christianists will persecute anyone who promotes non-christianist views and that is the stick. In our tradition at the end of a Vidya , stotra there is a warning that it should not be given to 1. A Sata ( t is spelled the hard way) - is one who after learning something claims that he already knew it before Hearing it now . 2. Dushta - evil person 3. Avisvasi - one without faith in what is being taught These people who are not acknowledging their Gurus , are all satas . If we dig further as to why they do not want to acknowledge their Gurus, it must be the thirst for name & fame. ( which is called Rajo Guna in our tradition ). In the western ( Greeko Roman tradition ? ) tradition discoveries by Oneself are more valued than learning under somebody . May be learning under somebody is considered a lesser. Pursuit in comparison to original discoveries. From. - stotram.lalitaalaalitah.com/2011/10/prahladakrita-narasimha-stotram_17.html Meaning - " Oh! Lord! Where am I, who am the origin of RajOguNa and who has been born in the asura clan, which is the seat of TamOguNa? Where is your grace to one born so low as I am? You, in your infinite grace have placed your Lotus holy hand on my head: but not even on Brahma, Siva and MahAlakshmi who have not been deserving of your blissful grace." It is Rajoguna which is preventing them from acknowledging their Gurus .
