That's a very unbalanced appraisal of the discussion between the two men , the debate didn't produce a victory for either men , only , I would say , clear explanation of the two different understandings , the western scientific one , and the spiritual one the other . From a rational viewpoint science has the limiting factor in that it cannot disprove the spiritual , but the spiritual view cannot use science either to prove its own view . We are then go no further , only deeper in understanding perhaps , and with time lost .

It just struck me that when you are focusing outward, you experience being the part exploring the parts. When you are focusing inward, you experience your relationship to an even greater whole within the realm that is consciousness. The key is to do BOTH simultaneously, with amount of focus varying depending on how you are moved to experience in the moment.

@@anishnagaraj we say the moon exists because we have actual evidence for it and based on that evidence we can verify the claim, also note that the moon has a very clear definition, everyone experiences the moon objectively the same, whereas whenever someone brings up spirituality - everyone suddenly has their personal definitions for it. every person defines spirituality differently according to their biases, also none of the spiritual experiences claimed by spiritual people are testifiable nor verifiable and not a single one of them has evidence for their experience to be "real". if while meditating I see a giant cat wearing a cape, with two wings, flying across the sky - that is my experience, "my life", but is it actually the truth? We will have to first verify the claim with proper testing and searching for the evidence, and guess who does it? - the labs. So no, the truth doesn't come from our subjective experiences but from the objective reality! hope you'll try to understand :)

@@karlschmied6218 sadguru already defined a term called awareness and that is directly depends on the tool called Brain as that is the point all 5 interface (senses - interfacing with rest of world) gets converted to intelligence. That is the coordinating point from those information flow into the mind. The yogic understanding goes this way. There are 5 karma indriyas = physical manifestation of 5 senses they are eyes, ears, nose, tounge, and skin. Then there are 5 gnana indriyas = the software portion of those five physical manifestation. The reason one feels the hand even after amputation is the gnana indriyas associated with the person which is soft portion has not got impacted. In this the mind, intelligence and ego also are considered as Indriyas in other words they are also interfacing the consciousness with the rest of the world. That is why sadguru was repeatedly saying consciousness is that portion called "chith" which is that not touched by any portion of the physical body. The physical body at higher level consist of 24 layers and 25th layer is the consciousness. The 24 layers are further divided to multiple sub components.

I almost shut this off half way through because I just couldn't listen to the guy in the middle anymore, but I love Sadhguru and his gentle voice and his state of BE-ING...❤ This is a perfect debate to show what is going on in our 🌎 today. We have to all learn our true souls existence and LIVE it..💫💖

If a dentist gives me an anesthetic to numb a tooth, I am still conscious, I am conscious of the lack of pain. A lack of pain does not equate to a lack of consciousness, it equates to a different experience for consciousness to experience. It alters the way consciousness interprets it's surroundings and experiences through the medium of the brain. The brain is like the universal translator that allows consciousness to experience it's existence, it is not the source of consciousness, nor does putting electrodes on someones synapses prove that consciousness is formed in the brain, it merely alters the experience that consciousness has, like switching the translation device to a different language.

Yeah, don't use language, a mental capacity grounded in logic, to understand better; instead use language to bath yourself in emotional you like. And of course each of us gets to decide what is true by neglecting the actuality outside of our minds that will eventually inform us about how wrong such non-thinking emotional massaging is. May fate go easy on you.

Sadhguru has said the same thing more than once in this conversation but.. no offence or criticism... The other person refused to look beyond their own conclusions. That is ignorance. Not taking sides but if you looked deeper then Sadhguru never ignored what the other party or any party said. He simply said everything from his experience not from books or knowledge. Well in short he explores or rather already explored. In short If you have a complete conclusion about things from 5 senses then you are ignorant.
