    Credit to Judd for winning 5 titles this season but to be a top top player and to go down as a great you need to be winning triple crown events. It needs to be his goal for the next snooker season

    I think that fact is exactly why Judd seems to struggle in Triple Crowns. He's aware of that fact more than anyone else, and the more he goes without winning his second world title, the more pressure there will be on him to not be a Crucible one-hit-wonder.

    Judd should go and get Steve Davis or someone as a coach, Ronnie did it with Reardon and he improved tactically.

    Judd already improved tactically, about five years ago. He's one of the best in the world with that right now. Beat Selby in tactics twice this season: UK + WGP. That's when he's playing good of course, not today. Only thing he really need to improve is his mentality.

    Because of the damp. The tables have been playing very slow and very heavy. Which is one of the reasons why Judd and Ronnie have been below par. They are used to working the white around the cloth. In almost perfect conditions. This year there is a clear issue. The amount of kicks been had when only one player is using triangle chalk is suspect. It is purely playing conditions. No excuse for Judd obviously as it’s the same for all the players. But Judd clearly wasn’t comfortable.

    @@Carl-vl1neIm glad I'm not the only one saying this. All the top players have struggled as the cloth and cushions seem very sluggish. I think it's put them out of stride allowing the lower ranked players to scrap out frames thst they would normally have not had a look in at. Ronnie seems to have handled it better than Trump and Allen but it's taken him a while. I've never seen so many players stood looking bewildered after so many shots come 2 feet short.

  • @Carl-vl1ne

    @Carl-vl1ne

    14 күн бұрын

    @@Dystopianutopiabuilds yes the main tv tables normally play very well in tournaments. The arena lighting. The heated table. Positioning of the actual tables central to most of the venues. The lower ranked players don’t often play on these tables. They play on the back tables and side tables. Where the conditions may not be quite the same. They are usually better at slogging the scrappy frames out. The table fitters changed the cushions after the first round matches. Because they also noticed how the tables were playing. Steve Davis made comment on the tables. Dominic dale mentioned the amount of bad bounces and kicks. Ronnie even complained at a kick he got. Which could have been down to him using triangle chalk, or maybe the deadness of the cloth. Whenever trump was missing he was mostly missing thick. And the object ball was jumping as it skated over the cloth. A damn cloth creates more friction. Which explains the slow feel. Explains the kicks. The bad bounces. Pots squaring up. Some of the pack splits been dull. And then with all the coughing in the audience aswell. It just makes my point even more valid.

    @@Carl-vl1ne Im only maybe 15 miles from the crucible and it's been absurdly rainy here even for England. I wonder if the venue being old and all the wet weather is having an effect on the cloth and how it's playing as I don't know what if any of the modern climate control facilities the crucible has. I also wonder if they have gone too tight on the cushions as last years championship there was a lot of talk about the pockets bieng too wide. The bottom corners I've seen more misses from players that very rarely miss. The same with the middle pockets as well, I think they may have over compensated. We can hope that when it goes to a single table over night the table fitters can address the issues for that semis and final.

    Worst Trump match I've ever seen. I'm sure even I could beat him today. I think he'll never win his second World title.

    He's still young enough but will be more desperate every year. Look at Neil Robertson and the promise he had after his first title 14 years ago, he's been nowhere near since , didn't even make the crucible this year and will be 43 at next year's championship and probably destined to remain a 1 time world champion.

    Watched the final frame and Snooker is finished. Absolute disgusting Jak Jones, no reaction, barely an acknowledgement to the crowd after his win. Snooker has become the most boring no fun game. It's not a sport and the players are no sports men either. They are all as sour as a gone off fish. Snooker is finished unless something is done to make the game more exciting, like swapping the colours around.

    Clearly a superiority complex when people claim that such a result must be a sign of match fixing. Cause the Welsh couldn’t possibly produce quality sports people huh? You know like Ray Reardon, Mark Williams, Gareth Bale, Joe Calzague, Ryan Giggs, Gareth Edwards, Jimmy Wilde, Gerwyn Price, Geraint Thomas, Billy Boston, etc.

    Well good news is Judd Trump won't be in the final. 😂 Good because I don't want him in the final because let's face it he's been a bit dull.... Strange thing is Ronnie O'Sullivan can play crap and still be exciting to watch but Trump doesn't have that.... Jak Jones outplayed Trump and was more often than not ahead, Trump was always chasing and levelling with Jak Jones but Jones was a stubborn opponent for Trump...... Trump is a good player but he wasn't good enough on this occasion unfortunately at least we know Trump won't be in the final.... Maybe it's destiny for Ronnie O'Sullivan to win his 8th world title but let's see if O'Sullivan pulled it off he'd be one world title ahead of Hendry and will be on 42 ranking titles...... What an achievement if O'Sullivan does it yet again.

    Thé thing with Ronnie is that he could change his game in a span of 2 3 frames. He could be brilliant and could run away with matches.Also,he s B and C games are strong...he always has a chance in long format matches.Let s see his losses here after 2011 ,and in general. He wasn t blown off the table like,never.He could lose, but he Had excruciating losses 80% of thé time. So 14-18 tout Selby (we know that story)...9-13 to Bingham (after 8-8 in thé first 2 sessions)...12-13 to Hawkins after he went down 8 or 9 to 12...10-13 to Ding after 2 close sessions...9-13 to Ali Carter...8-10 to James Cahill where he played like sht...12-13 to McGill ...and 10-13 to Brecel when he went on a losing steak of ...7 games,having led 10-6.So his matches are very very close when he loses. This being said, i don t think that of he goes to semis he will lose this title.His weaknesses are thé second and 3rd round.If he beats Bingham,is his to take, in thé best of 33 and 35 he s hard to stop

    Okay, so I’m a neutral here just remember that. Whoever decided to tighten up the pockets on the tables needs their arse kicking. People like to see players making breaks not looking at the pockets bewildered when the ball wobbles in the jaws. With these pockets the players are not taking on their shots which leads to long drawn out safety exchanges. Boring to watch and missing simple shots is soul destroying for the players. Why can’t people stop messing around with our sports?
