Incredible acoustic blues CHORD and SOLO
Музыка
Are you getting tired of playing the 12-bar blues the same way all the time? Want to be able to put licks, riffs, walks, and chords all together to create a much more interesting sounding blues that you can play on your own, without a band?
This guitar lesson video will get you there. By choosing in advance specific measures to solo or play other tricks, you can train yourself to play self-accompaniment style blues. This lesson shows you how to train your ear to get used to hearing the changes so you won't miss a chord change.
This lesson is great for anyone who enjoys playing acoustic blues guitar, or wants to learn general chord-melody and accompaniment style guitar playing.

Hey Blue, great video. I was look at tab on your website. I was looking for the key change in the Trooper song, we're here for a good time, not a long time. The key change was not there. What is happening at the key change, what key does the song go to? What's the chord progression? Thanks

Great video.. I wonder if there is a way to use a metronome or jam track to practice getting back to the chord on time. My problem is I don’t hear it in my head when to get back to the chord on time.
@GuitarLessonsVancouver
Жыл бұрын
Definitely using a jam track will help. Try a simple jam track that's just I to IV back and forth to start. Or a 12 bar form. Some jam tracks on YT show you when the chord changes.
Hey Blue great acoustic blues lesson. If you do another one could you do one without the shuffle and with a few more licks thanks George Cornwall Uk.
@GuitarLessonsVancouver
Жыл бұрын
Hi George, thanks! Good suggestion, I might be able to do that if this video does well. You can also replace the shuffle at the beginning by playing an E or E7 chord, similar to how I used A7 in bars 5-6.

Hi Blue, just discovered your site, on holiday actually, and had some light bulb moments. thank you . There is one thing... or should i say a load of things I am struggling with but one thing I have noted is that I can not get correct is the timing or duration of my solos. I know I want them to last for two bars but cant really get the timing in. Dont know if that is clear..... Any suggestions or tips !!!
@GuitarLessonsVancouver

Thank you! Practice with a jam track with a simple 2 chord progression. Try hearing the chord changes as you solo. Then try aiming your phrases for the roots of the chords as they change. That way your ear gets used to hearing the changes and you can always know where you are in the song form.
Good video, Blue! I mostly play my acoustic-- I've got it on a stand, so I can pick it up any time to play it. That helps a lot, since I don't have to get it out of a case. I practice all my stuff on it. I'm signed up with a guy who teaches improv & theory, but I still like your videos. I think I've seen all of them! Keep it up! 👍 👌

Cool thanks! Always a good idea to have the guitar handy so if we pick it up more often
Fabulous post!! I get lost during the # of beats in the solo though. Hint?
@GuitarLessonsVancouver
Жыл бұрын
Thanks David, That's common. Keep you two bar solo real simple and try playing to a jam track so you can hear when the chord change happens.
Can’t find tab down load? Found it
I'm just kidding. But, it wasn't until I learn to play the acoustic guitar blues that feel I'm actually making music rather than just another song but thank you for posting this
