And Lin-Manuel initially wasn’t interested in appearing in this film adaptation of his work, but what convinced him otherwise was the execs were going to cut the Piragua song from this movie should he refuse. Which to Lin was really important and what he holds dear.

Stephanie Beatriz worked double duty in 2021. She had In the Heights AND Encanto in the same year! She’s flexible and versatile!

This is the best movie I have ever seen. The music, choreography, the characters, stories, emotions - the music and dancing organically flows in and out, the energy is electrifying. It's a movie that must be seen on a big screen with high-tech sound system to be truly appreciated. The Broadway musical made a galactic leap to the screen. It's a masterpiece!

Most of it had to do with time constraints. I saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it overall and understood the changes. There was only one change that I thought made no sense but it was relatively minor.

Miles better than a lot of other recent movie musicals including the live action Disney remakes. The singers are all good, the choreographed sequences are beautifully framed and well…it’s what you want from a musical movie

🇷🇸 I'm Serbian and my family still carries a bit of the tradition with us to Florida. My Grandma was an immigrant from Serbia along with my Grandpa. Even though I don't have the same culture as the people in this movie, I'm still very excited to see many very different cultures and people all represented in one movie. It's kind of refreshing if you think about it.

Anthony did a great job :) he shows his awkwardness in Nina’s dinner, the club scene… it’s a more realistic portrayal than Lin’s on Broadway (which is understandable, since movies and plays require different types of acting).
