Waaiiiit - so you believe the party that has the resources to hang a giant deadly battlestation into orbit and is ruthless enough to bombard everywhere including outside their territory to enforce their will - is the party needing to level the playing field? Thats like arguing the US invading vietnam on the other side of the globe and killing millions to change their governement needs bigger bombs and twenty more carrier fleets to come to an even footing. Or looking at the fight "The rock vs. asthmatic toddler" and thinking the poor rock should really have an assault rifle for it to be fair. Its not like the simulants in this film actually attacked. Good ground rule - when a massively superior military power carpet bombs people half a world away claiming pro-active defense, be doubtful.

If Nomad was in orbit, it would be passing by at over 17000 MPH ground speed, and zoom across the sky in just a couple seconds. The only way it could hover around like in the movie would be if it had some kind of propulsion system holding it up against gravity.

  • @user-un8tv1pp8m

@@snaplash Dont exactly know how you figure that? ISS is in a largely stable LEO and is visible for about 18 minutes in the sky with every of its 16 orbits a day at 400 km height from any given point on earths surface below its orbit. The mass of an orbiter would also play a role in where and how fast it would have to orbit. But yeah, the way its shown in-film, it would be more of a antigravity-standing giant athmospheric vehicle. Large, near, fully steerable. Although it is described as a sattelite by canon. But you are right, it cant really be.

for the last decade or so I've been noticing a lot of sci fi with plots that make very little sense. It's almost like it's written by several people who had no contact with each other and blindly try to pick up where others left off... It's gotten to the point now where my only real interest in sci fi is to see how dumb the pasted together plot turns out to be.

Firstly, I know everything but it takes me a while to train the generation of engineers I need to actually build the stuff. Downloading consciousness and memories: nice idea, too bad it doesn't work that way. Implanting human brains in machine-bodies, on the other hand, may be inevitable to a degree.

Movie was really odd, So the robots are not evil its just "America" killing a bunch of "Asian" people and also Robot AI mixed in with it. How in the hell does a Machine get outgunned and out muscled by a Human with no super strength? And thought-out the movie the AI had no seriously advance tech except a little girl to combat the "American" Oppressors. Propaganda at it's finest if you ask me.

This shit was awesome. I loved how the AI still wanted peace after the war. It's interesting how the more you learn about the AIs you see them as more human then the humans who don't even value them as people. It's such an amazing story. The facts that is takes place only 40 years from now is soooo cool. I could easily see us getting to this level in 40 years, especially if we get robo homies to help build buildings and vehicles. Damn though, this really skips so much of the film.

Human's since day one of our existence, regardless of how it came to be. Are the only biological life form that has ever existed that is not only obsessed but mandate to the N-th degree; There is purpose. Today we've developed various computer program's some of which a device referred to as a robot, can be utilized by us to do some of the supposedly mondane thing's we choose not to do. Come a day when Robot's aka AI become's sentient. Haveing a digital logic, not human logic, in which it's been proven to be illogical. What would be the purpose of killing all human's, leaving only AI with nothing to do when there primary purpose was to assit man. Without man, AI have no purpose. OR, purpose has never really existed in the first place.
