04/16/2010- RIP Peter Steele, I wish that you didn't have to leave us as young as were and especially when most music nowadays is derivative and bland. Peter, you were an incredible songwriter and you placed passion when in came to music whether it be in the studio or when you're performing live for millions and millions of fans. There aren't too many bands that matched this intensity that Peter showed toward his music. Peter, thank you for getting me through the worse periods of my life: for getting me through my early teens, a period for which i was teased for being timid, quiet and socially awkward, getting through my depression and cousin's death and many other family deaths to follow, for getting me through my break up in senior year. Peter you taught me that not all men are insensitive jerks, but there are men, like you, who are not afraid to get in touch with their darkness and express it. You inspired to express my own darkness through my poetry when I held it back due to the fears I had of looking like a freak in front of other people.
In short, thank you Pete, for the 9 years I have known and cherished your music. I may not have been able to meet you or see perform live ( I wil when I get to the other side!), you played a very important part of my life for so long. This is not a so long, but more like see you in awhile. So until then. Rest in Peace, Peter Steele, you're performing with the rest of the rock gods now.

I'm pretty sure half these views are mine. Pete's the best frontman and singer and bass player to have ever lived, we all know that. But that guitar tone Kenny has, and that sustainer pickup are seriously underrated.

Ah dude, same thing happened to me. Drinking beers with a mate in the smoke pit talking about bands and shit and he asks if I ever heard of Type O. Dude had an awful tattoo of the logo on his leg lmao.
One of my favorite songs...because of their dark/sarcastic humor, people sometimes forget how good Type O are good at writing memorable, great melodies...these guys are awesome songwriters. She hates me...

Peter wrote all the songs, Kenny said that himself.
It was the night of August 22 in the summer of 1999. I was 15 years old and sat glued to the TV as this concert was life broadcasted by german TV. It was totaly Orsm :o)
What a band, it kills me that I will never get the chance to see them live. R.I.P Mr.Steele.

i got to see them at harpos detroit the last time they ever played there before he died. they played for over 3 hours and pete thre out a water bottle and i caught it. one of the best shows ive ever seen in my life. they were magic live.
4:40 onwards is music at its peak
Favorite song of my favorite band. But kind of heartbreaking seeing his bottle of wine next to him in this show... Like every other show.

On the last tour of Type Of the wine bottle was replaced by a bottle of Gatorade & water. Check out the videos of the last tour online. Pete was sober & sounding great.

remember when I first heard October rust and this came on,immediately fell in love with the main riff. type o is one of my all time favorite bands and will remain as one
My life would be complete if I saw these guys live.
When I was a young lad, about 15 years, just randomly experimenting with music, my first cd was ozzy's blizzard of oz. I was browsing the young internet at the time, noticing a trend of Gothic theme. I loved ozzy, I knew it was rock, whatever kind of rock it was. So I happened to type "Gothic rock" into ask jeeves, and this band's name came into existence for me. The first ever song I listened by them was "black number 1" and since then I've been succumbed by their dark insight on everything that has been bearing the human race since their minds were capable of the decisions of right and wrong.

I absolutely love them - RIP Peter Steele luckily I had the pleasure to see them the last time they came to Cleveland October 20th 09 it was the best damn concert I've ever been to, and I will remember it forever because unfortunantly it was the first and last time I ever got to see Peter Steele in person.
