As an S550 Mustang GT w/ manual owner, this video brings me joy. I'm not much into drag racing, so it makes me happy that a well setup Mustang GT can perform very well at a track like the Nordschleife. Mine is currently setup for the streets with occasional canyon carving and spirited driving on some nice roads here in the US. Definitely agree with the braking situation though, my brakes are still factory.

@@sheldonaubut They do not have braided hoses. However, I'm reading on forms that the lines make a marginal difference, especially if you have brembos on the car already. Nonetheless, new pads and rotors will be more than enough for street and canyon use.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the smoothness of the speedometer? like all the digital dashes of all other brands (except volvo and ford apparently) have a refresh rate of 1-2 times per second, giving it quite a delay. I don't know if it's just me but I find this speedometer extremely satisfying to watch, as an oppose to those of other brands

can definitely confirm that the new 2019 onwards Volvos have probably one of the smoothest digital dashboards I've seen. the tachometer is so smooth its quite unreal. its a little laggy for the first couple of seconds on startup, but then almost 'calibrates' itself and becomes incredibly smooth. You can even see it in some of mishas videos with the polestar 1.

  • @MikkoRantalainen

It seems that this speedometer runs at 20-25 fps which is obviously much better than 1-2 fps speedometers for many other car manufacturers. I think some manufacturers think that the speedometer is hard to read if the numbers change fast but you can easily keep the numbers readable with fast enough display (you need maybe 20 ms pixel response time or less for a crisp 25 fps display so that's should be easily doable even in cold temperatures with a good LCD and obviously OLED would be always fast enough). I find slow speedometer response hard to use even for normal passanger cars if you try to accurately match the highest allowed speed on road. I think using tabular font for the numbers would have been even better. For example, when speed went from 172 to 171 the number 7 shifted a bit towards to right because "2" was taking more space than "1". Some fonts have very nice numbers with regular widths and do not require such shifts. And I loved the tachometer implementation even more here.

The only thing that is not perfect is the MT 82 transmission. The owner was right about having to sometimes be a little light with shifting. @@zorrokitty5666 Yes The ZL1 1LE is in question about those issues. They made a 2.0 T 1LE. 3.6 V6 1LE and currently the SS 1LE, This is the 6.2 L LT1 engine with 455 HP. They are all a blast on the track ! I'm a driving instructor and the 3.6 1LE is almost 50/50 , it's 52% Front and 48% Rear with 335 HP. BMW M3 feel ! This is no longer in production :(

Nice to see the Ukrainian President getting some track time. I love my 2020 Mustang GT with Magnaride and 6spd. It's a very capable Ozark backroads sports car...and then you can put the exhaust in 'quiet mode' and the suspension in normal mode and cruise on a long trip in surprising comfort.

Mustangs ABSOLUTELY can handle. Honestly the problem is that from the factory they're set up for boomers, the front end on SN95 and fox body Mustangs came with POSITIVE camber so they can ensure it'll be safe to drive and understeer for the old guys driving it. Add camber plates and give it negative camber and decent suspension and shocks, and it becomes a handling MONSTER. Mustangs are so capable people don't realize it, just gotta remove that shitty but safe tuning if you have a nonperformance trim, and if you have a performance trim like a PP2 or Shelby, it's almost all the way there
