The spooky thing is how close to reality this actually is, especially for the newer generations (I'm only 21 but I still grew up without social media for the most part) who grow up completely in the world of social media and influencers. It's already becoming a newer issue in the mental health industry where teens believe their worth is determined by their status on social media. They do everything they can to get likes and followers even known the followers might as well be strangers and the likes are meaningless.

She drunkenly cries about how Naomi slept with Lacey's crush in highschool because she's a fake bit*h. Lacey actually hates Naomi and Naomi was using HER just like Lacey was using her back. The only part that didnt make sense to me was the fact that they have implants in their eyes which displays everything thats on their phones, but also still have hand held phones for some reason.

I feel this black mirror episode depicts maturity which comes when you're facing tough time in life to identify who your real friends are. I lost all the "friends" who i was genuinely nice to but they didn't care/love me as much as i loved them (like beth loved Naomi). As soon i dropped running after them, they were out of my life, they were never really my friends, just people trying to have social conduct & good times. Never felt this free. We need more friends like Susan.

I think this Black mirror episode has a very deeper meaning of showing how society really is currently!!! Everyone chasing clout at least most of em! Posting pictures on Instagram of their everyday life for no reason at all other than those likes which makes them falsely feel that people actually care about them! Being said that this also reminds me of a dialogue from House MD, where House says that people act like being nice to other people not because they are nice or want to be nice but rather they want others to treat them nice! I know I butchered the dialogue but it was something similar to that only!

Statistics is one of the greatest tool humans have created, using which we can describe (with probability) a one's behaviour. Even in current times, people do that. People don't hire low performing people, visa are not granted (or considered more in depth) to people who have priore rejection, government keeps an eye on people with sketchy past, driving licence is revoked based on points etc. This episode just puts that in over-drive.

watch them accidently press 1 instead of 5 as a running gag and he chases after them to get them to make the rating a 5.

The Orville did a similar episode. Everything was controlled by "likes" and if you had to little things got awkward for you.

This was one of the best non-canonical Black Mirror episodes. But like most of them, it could've been done in 10 minutes. You knew exactly what was going to happen after the first scene.

Reminds me of the American dream filled with taxation and credit scores. You need a good credit score to get a house, a loan, and sometimes a freaking job. You pay taxes on every fucking thing; what’s next? Taxing us on the air we breathe?

Reminds me of a episode of Orville, where the intrepid trekkers go down to a planet that judges you on your social ratings / scores. If you get a low enough score over a certain amount of time, you get 'punished'. Episode was called Majority Rule.
