A decade? This song was released in 2004!

Ever so often I return to this song. It still hits me as hard as a teenager when I first heard it on a train platform on my way to my last year in high school. Going strong for 18 years and I realized I am now 36, have mourned, loved, laughed, raged, reconciled, promised, given up, pushed through, fought, lost, won, overcame so many things and the song still carries meaning and release after all these years. This is my song, this is my anthem and I will return over and over again until the day I pass and I won't regret a second listening to it.

been a follower of this band since my old friend introduced me to them back in '04. Badass

I am listening them in 2024 and will listen then until I die.

I’ve seen In Flames live 4 times. One time they actually played this song at a show at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, probably 13 or so years ago. I kept screaming “my sweet shadow” and when they actually played it, I totally lost it. This band never lets you down during a live show. Forever my favorite metal band! They played so much music from Jesters Race and Lunar Strain too when I saw them last year ❤️

Still listening in 2024!!! Fking love this band!!!

I can remember the part of my life during which this song came out. Man, those were some good times...I miss those days. 😞

Saw them live in 2005 at Ozzfest. This song takes me back to high school. I am 35 now and this song still rocks.

Kings of the heavy as fuck choruses

I know this is dumb and wont resonate with many people, but In Flames, and this song specifically, were the soundtrack to my first experiences with MMORPG gaming (FFXI and WoW) in the mid 2000s. This song takes me right back to the epic open world battles that would erupt. It felt so great to have half a server rush to a zone and fight in huge battles with songs like this playing. I miss it.

This was the album that opened the gateway to the rest of in flames and metal back in 2004/2005. The songs for my adolescent years lol I never thought Soundtrack was a bad album.

Songs like these are immortal.

One of my all-time favorites. I interpret it as self-forgiveness and releasing the person you were. You still reflect on the past and understand it made you who you are now, but you're longer guided by it. Whatever you're going through serves as the fuel. "My sweet shadow, to you I look no more."

There are very few things that persisted before and after a decade in the military. This is one of those very few things. I loved this song in 2006 as much as I do in 2021.

Long time ago, this song got me into In Flames. I still think it's one of their best.

I saw In Flames in Boulder Co in 2014 and they played their set, which was amazing, and then left the stage, after a few minutes they came back on to play this as an encore. This is my favorite In Flames song so them capping off their show with this made it the best concert of my life.

Has to be the best In Flames song ever! The first song I ever heard from these guys! Its a quiet but at the same time so intense and brutal!

The synth backing to the main riff in this song, which fades in the outro, made this the perfect concert closer for a number of years. The image of the five dudes taking bows onstage while the outro to this song continues in the background, and the crowd screams, will always stay with me. What a metal epic.

This, resin and like sand are my favourite 3 and I listen to almost every album frequently.

The feel this song gives is masterpiecely mindblowing! No need for complicated arrangements

Even the cymbals sound like something is burning! I still remember the summer of 2004 when I spent 24/7 listening to this album. I was 18 years old. It was hot and In Flames was hot and I used to scream out loud in the middle of the street singing along. The nostalgia is immense. If I had to choose one bit from In Flames and trade all the others away, I would pick between 01:20 and 01:28. I FOUND A FLAME IN THE BURNT OUT ASHES!!! Long live In Flames!
