Finally! Someone used this pun!

Got these yesterday, used already from a guy on Reddit. I am not sure how he got them since they are still on pre-order, but I saved a little dough and got them earlier than most! They are mega detailed and excellent! It is worth mentioning that they were already scratched up and scuffed when I received them, and that's notable because the guy couldn't have had them for very long yet. So, the shiny faceplate is extremely delicate. I'll live with it. I actually really like the cable that came with them. It's a nice material that feels good and it behaves well. In a certain light it is really beautiful with these IEMs, it shines with a silvery glow like a blessing from an angel. Or, atl least, I'm pretty sure that's what Moondrop was going for with that. I would also mention that initially I did notice a certain lack of "meat" on the upper bass. It's something Super Reviews had mentioned. I never could quite get that to sound right, even with EQ. I decided to just get used to it, and let it settle in a little bit. Now the entire frequency range sounnds pretty dope, since my ears are used to them, and these are magnificent! I'm really happy with them! They are beautiful, and sound beautiful! They have a bright tuning, but are not at all siblant. I tried the track "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. He's very SSSSSSS in that song but it was never too harsh at all. Sub bass is extremely punchy and clean. Would recommend!

Considering 90% of my music library is Japanese anime music I think these will be my next purchase. Like every one of my tracks is super busy or super detailed with a good amount of high end and female vocals with a focus on sub bass. Take Papermoon from Tommy Heavenly6, such a good rock song with a high focus on the female vocals and the background guitar and drums. I can understand these not being good for mainstream shit that's on the radio every day but then again who's listening to that style of music and buying IEM's from Moondrop... the Waifu capital of IEM's. I swear these are built for video game and anime soundtracks. Can't go wrong with that.

Like watching Aqua-sama puking rainbows up close, if that’s not a must buy, I don’t know what is.

Nice review. So, what would be an example of an iem with gobs of soundstage? Everything I currently have puts the music in my head. Thanks.

When talking about soundstage does the fact it's in your head make them worst for like online gaming? Like if I want hi definition footsteps when playing r6 should I just fuck off and buy some shitty iems off amazon because it's gonna be the same?

ive used headphones as open as they come and iems that are right up your face for games (csgo/valorant), and honestly it made negligible difference after I got used to using them. The only thing I will say though, is headphones with bloated bass makes it super hard to hear footsteps over gunshots, so I would probably avoid "shitty iems off amazon", but you'll probably be better off getting cheaper iems if your main/only purpose for them is games.

So, the Ikko OH10 are still a better option for soundstage and imaging, with a clean bass?

@@DonguriGaming I dont know. All comments and reviews Ive seen about the OH10 are about their great soundstage and imaging, with a notorious sub bass, and that's what im looking for. Currently Im waiting for the wave of reviews about the new OH10S, to read if they are equally good, better, worst, or else.

The market has changed since the B2s came out. Most reviewers seem pretty underwhelmed /ambivalent so far. For £320 they need to be really good and nobody seems to be that enthusiastic. Think I’ll be passing.

From shenzenaudio it's £263 without any discount. I think when it comes to 11/11 there could be (I'm hoping anyway 😂) a 10%+ discount So it could be around £240 or less, definitely worth it for that much. Although I'm tempted by the Aful P8s now 😅

I have the blessing 2 and I skipped the dusk cause I didn't at the time understand why I'd buy the same thing just tuned a little differently. I love my blessing 2's and I see no reason to get these

i've used the blessing 2 daily for about a year, before upgrading to the blessing 3. I can tell you that the B2s are good but a bit unimpressive...the b3 is a lot more resolving and airy, sounding more like open back headphones. Definitely a big step up, except for the midbass where it's a bit thin. The B3 dusk will probably solve that

B3 is great as it is. It has slgihtly better detail retrieval than Variations but is worse in Soundstage. The Dusk does compromise some microdetails for extra warmth and punch in the bass. You can always EQ the B3

Opposite for me. I tried both, and B3 has better bass dynamics but Vari has more bass. B3 mids and vocals has more body than Vari. Technicalities, well Vari has a slight edge on the B3.

Edit: as has been pointed out, surprisingly nicely, this is NOT an isobaric configuration. This is a dual DD where they are set up to work against each other, in “opposition” to use their words. Meaning they are always either moving away from each other or towards at the same time. Which has the effect of making them work quite a lot harder than in a normal dual DD configuration as they are always fighting each other. I’m not sure what benefits this has that would outweigh its drawbacks unless it allows them to get better accuracy out of cheaper drivers rather than spending a few extra pennies for better ones that wouldn’t need this. But this is all in their pictures (when you don’t make assumptions) and literature (except the last part where I’m speculating about why this is anything other than a gimmick). That dual DD configuration is literally called “isobaric”. “Push-pull isobaric configuration” to be exact. That’s been a thing since before Moondrop existed. But then they made up that godawful name for it when they could have just said “isobaric”. Which actually sounds cool. In that push-pull configuration (2 speakers very close together facing each other, so they are pushing/pulling each other) they act like one speaker with a magnetic/voice coil on each side of the cone, both motors working in unison. They don’t move 2x the air/have 2x the output of a singe driver BUT when done properly they work half as hard and are more accurate than one on it’s own. If anyone wants to argue,… have fun arguing with yourself. This would take less then 2 minutes to google and read now that you know what term to use.

No , Not isobaric , The output on the B3 is taken between the 2 drivers , I checked it on my B3 , An isobaric configuration would only output in 1 driver while the second one is behind.

Tbh. I was thinking so too but the term horizontally opposed and the tube looks like it comes from between the two dd's means that it's not. There are isobaric configurations that do have the woofers facing each other, but the output needs to be behind one of the drivers. For it to be isobaric, the air between the drivers must be inert, hence, isobaric. This is more like a parallel dd config but made small. Probably also why marketing went to town with it.

@@Mystic_Chizu Yup , I have the blessing 3 , And the output is taken between the 2 DDs, Meaning the surface area of the bass section is twice compared to single DD. The bass is amazing , clean fast and very dynamic.

Yup, you’re all right. This is a dual DD design where the drivers are set up to work against each other rather than with, like every other multi driver design. They’re always fighting against each other which can benefit accuracy but I’m not sure what the benefit is given than this wouldn’t be necessary with better drivers. Maybe it allows them to keep costs down by using cheaper drivers without sacrificing accuracy? Who knows. But there’s nothing groundbreaking about this, just everyone else would have put the money towards one better driver rather than 2+the architecture. That last only bares mentioning as they’re billing this as some sort of scientific breakthrough,… which is the marketing team gone amuck/not really knowing what they’re talking about. BUT the rest is speculation, whether or not this is a gimmick or something actually cool depends entirely on “why”, which they didn’t get in to. Their write up about this was questionable at best, but you do have to factor in that this was clearly written by marketing people and almost certainly a translation from Mandarin.

Yup , The B3 is push-push config , The drivers are wired in phase. Not isobaric at all. it looks isobaric , But technically it's not. I Don't know what you mean they work harder , Actually each work only half as hard compared to single dd, The bass on the b3 is very effortless.
