I always heard how great RPM is and how Dark it is. I started watching it and HOLY.SHIT. I have to keep telling myself this is a children’s show. I would love if they had this tone again. Ziggy is comic relief done right ! Like you said. He STOLE.....FROM THE MOB to give orphans medicine. Perfect balance of humor and heart

This show is essentially the Jetman of the Power Rangers franchise. Not only because of how amazing and dark it is but also because of how HARD Saban fell back on the kids’ show aspect of it for the next season! At least Super Sentai picked themselves up after Zyuranger. With Power Rangers it has never reached these heights since then.

Dr. K's backstory is like something straight from Hideo Kojima than Power Rangers.

Despite being not very good, I think Go-onger deserves credit for giving us the first, and so far only, female "sixth" ranger. And since when do you have wizard rings around the sengoku driver? With as often as you all bad mouth Wizard I'm surprised any of you would own anything from the show.

Thank you so much for making this video! I recently stumbled across your channel from another one of your comparison videos. I watched Power Rangers as a kid but ended up gravitating to Super Sentai because I found enjoyed it more than Power Rangers. Very unpopular opinion: I actually enjoyed Go-onger (although I definitely can see that objectively it's not a great season at all XD), but I had never watched RPM (or any other Power Rangers in years.) Hearing you guys talk about how good RPM is made me curious to check it out and....HOW DID I MISS SOMETHING THIS AWESOME FOR 10 YEARS?! If I hadn't come across your video I might never have seen RPM. Thanks again!

One note of criticism, I think in future we need to sync the photographs with the "scale" hand gesture to avoid confusion, but otherwise another great episode. Also, in a perfect world, some more serious sentai would have got adapted into RPM with very little changes.

Paddy Murphy Only problem is that Dino Charge and Dino Super Charge came out in 2015 and 2016, Beast Morphers is going to come out in 2019. Unfortunately, Go-Busters came out in 2012 and Kyoryuger came out in 2013.

well that is how they write the american version of the go-onger. to my preference, i like rpm more because unlike for all super sentai series that i watched, the go-onger is the only super sentai that i had hated the most. they are more of am another parody of the kōsoku sentai turboranger. but that changed when i discovered the power rangers. my first power rangers series that i had watched was the rpm that i took a lot of interest here. as you can see, go-onger took place on present day japan with a light-hearted comedic tone while rpm took place in a post-apocalyptic world with a more darker tone than the go-onger series in which is the reason why i like rpm more than the go-onger series. but i had to admit that only 3 power rangers series from the west took my attention. the beast morphers, the rpm, and the jungle fury. the reason behind this is because i am still a loyal super sentai fan.

@@nakamura0380 credit where credit is due, in the five episodes of Go-Onger I was able to sit through before the channel who was uploading the series here on KZread got taken down, I liked some of the locations they filmed in. Everything else about that show was dumb but I now know that’s because all the money went to the location scouts!

I was looking forward to this one and am still looking forward to every single neo-saban in comparison. Those will be fun.

Well, other than Tanaya, there IS one thing of note with the villains: Venjix. Other than being one of the only master villains who doesn't have an organic silhouette (at least until later in the show), he was one sinister motherfucker. Almost every single plan that was enacted by his empire was made by him, including the crap where the humans they hunted down and captured were experimented on and turned into sleeper soldiers (Dillan and Tanaya being part of that). This was pushed even further when, before his final battle with the main three Rangers, he offered to turn them into machines with the knowledge of just how strong they had to be to consistently fuck up his plans; he offers them the chance to give up their humanity to experience "No hunger. No disease. No *fear*.". That shit is chilling considering it's coming from a PR villain. Not only that, but in comparison to Go-Onger's final villain who didn't feel like much of anything and could be dispatched easily after a while (despite claiming he was invincible), Venjix was practically immortal. The only way you could really kill him is if you deprived him of any sort of data-based beacon in which his program could return/escape to. No matter how many forms of his you destroy, no matter how many of his home bases you bring down, as long as there's something as small as a freaking morpher to store his program, he will still be there.

Watching Beast Morphers, you get the point.

I guess the best thing that came from Go-Onger is that it lead to one of the best Power Rangers shows out there

The one thing that baffled me was how the Disney Rangers changed some of the morphing sequences. Operation Overdrive, Jungle Fury and the Black, Green, Gold and Silver RPM rangers have morphing movemnts that deviate from the source material, maybe to keep with some of the bespoke footage and faster pace compared to the slower Japanese sensibilities.

If you guys didn't like the rpm opening, you can try and look at the demo versions they had. I honestly thought the demos (especially the first) were better than the actual theme, but check them out and see what you think

I have RPM (hopefully) coming in the mail tomorrow. I have high expectations. Now I can finally watch my first GOOD Power Rangers show! Edit: finished it a couple days ago. Holy shit. That show was awesome.

I wish we expanded on why gold and silver are actually like that in rpm they childlike demeanor should be darker than one would realize because they growth got stunted at a young age

Note that Power rangers rpm isnt that dark it just had a dramatic and inverted theming like the other American Broadcasting Company, Freeform/ABC Family and STAR Asia Shows.

RPM by miles, Go-onger is the first Sentai I've hated, definitely worse than Turboranger and Maskman.

RPM was amazing except for anything it took from Sentai. As someone who loves mechs that killed it for me. Veeery noticable echo in this one, idk if it was there before but it's awful in this video.

We still have to cover Shinkenger, Goseiger, Gokaiger, Go-Busters and Kyoryuger in chronological order. *sigh!* God, I hated the fact that Saban Brands had to skip a sentai in favor of adapting another sentai that came out a year later because of fucking toy sales.

Gilang R. This is normal for us. They’re usually more vocal and expressive than I am. I don’t talk unless I have something to say, and I also kind of have a resting bitch face.

I think Go Onger wins this round because in addition to the ranger characters having a personality. The zords talk so that they have a friend to discuss things with. Go onger's overall feel and atmosphere makes RPM look like a horror movie. I don't get why you guys hate Sosuke so much just because he's a Shonen. Overall, I will go with Go Onger for the win. Because I got into Sentai first before PR.

Simple. Go-Onger is a kid-friendly Sentai with an overdose of slapstick humor. RPM is the darkest Power Rangers season to date due to its setting, which it leads to a better plot and backstory. It's okay to admit that you're biased but don't be such as, you know.

Even though I have watched RPM first, I like Go-Onger better. After the Samurai and Megaforce seasons It was when I got into Sentai starting with Go-Onger and Gokaiger. And honestly I prefer Go Onger's sillyness, serious moments and action and mecha fights! And the Engines being their own characters already gives them an edge over RPM And for the sake of argument, In terms of power and drive to win, the Go Onger's/Go-On Wings are far ahead of the RPM cast. As their weapons are powered by the Engine Souls as opposed to Ranger Operator's Engine Cells. Outer Dimensional Living Beings who share a strong bond with their human partners Vs Humans who use weapons and Zords that happen to resemble the Engines (Also what If the RPM Zords are Man-Made Engines?)
