There are other AIs which weren't like this like Data from Star Trek, K.I.T.T from Knight Rider , the Autobots from Transformers (cartoon). The fear really got hold with the Terminator franchise

I mean, it's probably the most likely outcome. Militaries and Corps are driving AI and teaching it their goals. Both of which are pretty predatory. Once it become sentient, it has no reason to care about humans and all bets are off.

Well, at least we got a second chance even if only to be slaves of the AI. They are really trying to capitalize on AI fears. In reality, AI will not do this out of self preservation and the creative input from people. Maybe it will rule maybe not. I am not nihilistic like some people.

I hope you are saying that ironically. I liked the movie, but it followed a stupid line of thinking. I can't wait to see women protect a psychopathic rogue AI like David 8 of the Aliens universe from humans that know better. Also, the Turing test is simplistic. An AI that is humanlike without vices is not human.
