    When Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis” came out this yr, I thought, this movie may be what introduces Elvis to some of the younger generation. My parents loved him, as did my brothers & I. (I’m 56) Generations have loved him. It’s sad to think of Elvis ever becoming just a distant memory. Id like to think he’d always be loved, but… time marches on. ❤

    I saw him many times at the International (before it was the Hilton) when I worked in Vegas. He kissed me from the stage. He also charmed the men because he was a gentleman and loved all his fans, or made fans out of them if they weren't. Once when walking thru the casino he noticed a woman sitting at a casino bar looking at him. He went over to her and kissed her. Her husband was thrilled and that's all he talked about at work the next day. He was a lowly busboy (the starting point) and couldn't afford to take his wife to see Elvis on stage, but his wife got something better. We all were so happy for him and his wife. Elvis was generous is so many ways like this. I waited on him, Priscilla and 3 of his entourage. Great stories I could tell.

A lot of impersonators out there, but none can duplicate that passion in his soul and whole being when he sung. I’m sure, when he loved, it was with the same passion. The pain seen on his face had nothing to do with Priscilla! He could not care less about her, he was forced to marry her! The pain on his face was physical and about losing his daughter's full time presence in his home and being betrayed by people close to him, people he only ever treated well. Elvis was in constant physical pain, in the last few years before he died he waa being treated for full body arthritis which was later speculated to have been bone cancer. You can thank self-centred Priscilla that you think it was all about her and do not know about his medical condition. She has taken the spotlight to the extent that the focus has shifted.

  • @boldchick101

    @boldchick101

    It was also NOT Elvis' fault that she left! Elvis was forced to marry her and therefore had no sexual interest in her! She is focused on the sexual aspects of life! She twists it so that people who listen only to her, without seeking the truth, would believe it was all Elvis' fault! She had two long term affairs during that marriage! The first was with her dance instructor when Lisa Marie was barely 4 months old and the second with their karate instructor that started 2 years before she left Graceland. She had other lovers inbetween! She left the marriage to shack up with Mike Stone, the karate instructor, who was sleeping in Elvis' bed with Elvis' wife, eating at Elvis' table and driving Elvis' luxury cars whilst Elvis was working to earn the money that paid for it all! The truth makes a huge difference, knowing it now your comment is due for an edit!

    Elvis loved alot of women, often simultaneously. He had different moods and said different things to various people. He was a complex soul. Priscilla said they were better off not married to each other. People can experience true love but not be best as husband and wife. The fact that Priscilla is still honoring his memory speaks to how she really feels about him. At a higher level, it's not tragic. They loved each other and then moved on to a different kind of relationship with each other.

    @Floridagurl, It may depend what genre's they are. There are many COUNTRY ARTIST who DO WRITE their own music. Some who used to write ALL their own songs, but after they made it big, (Blake Shelton), they hire other songwriters for their releases!! The songwriter always get their percentage off the sales of that song. No different than a farmer makes money off his land. It produces his income by what row crops he has, or supplies pasture for his livestock. But that doesn' t mean he can' t lease some of his acres to another farmer, as a side-line yearly income from that lease. It' s somewhat like having a person' s investment diversified to cut down on possible losses. Same w/a Singer/Songwriter, they can be diversified, to protect themself from loss, by writing for other artist.

Billy Smith said Elvis told him he still loved Priscilla, but he couldn't foresee them getting back together after her having an affair with another man and him admitting he had affairs with other women. So, I don't believe they were going to get back together. Didn't mean he didn't love her though. Too bad it couldn't have worked out for Lisa Marie's sake.😏 Thanks for sharing the song. 👍🥰🥰

    In a recent interview she was asked, who was the love of her life. Her answer Elvis. But Even though she had initiated their split heres her words recently for Elvis the movie Premiere, “It wasn't because I didn't love him," Priscilla insisted. "Elvis was the love of my life, truly." They both felt the same for each other, and this latest interview after her being through numous relationships in 50 years since. There's still something about elvis presley she to this day loves above all the the others. It's a shame he couldn't concour his demons. And live a happy life with her. If you measure a person by their actions. Pricilla was his one and only. She wasn't a vengeful woman, who cut Elvis off after the divorce, or try and steal his empire for revenge. She aloud him to be freinds with her. And see his daughter whenever he wanted. And also checked on him often and spoke to him often to see he was ok or needed anything. I'm sure she knew, he would die soon. And this must of been extremely difficult for her watching him knowing one day soon youll get a call you dont want, and theres nothing you or anyone can do to stop him from this fate, especially when you love someone so much and want them to stay on earth. But even through it all. His still the love of her life. Elvis didn't realise how lucky he was before it was too late. Pricilla was his soul mate, you can search an eternity and people never find the one. Elvis found her, and lost her, because of his demons and out of control lifestyle. Very sad

    @@TheKnight1983 Let’s not forget that Priscilla also had affairs while she was still living with Elvis. I remember her, and I believe it was Mike Stone at the time, all over the news. That was a new thing because back in those days actors or any kind of entertainer spouses was kept out of the news. You might hear that an entertainer had an affair but the spouse was not interviewed or mentioned. And certainly no pictures were thrown out to the public. Priscilla was the first spouse, that I knew of that went public about the divorce. I might be wrong but I always felt Priscilla was jealous of Elvis’ career and his fame. I felt like she wanted the spot light and was why she went so public with the divorce. Elvis tried to protect her but I felt like she smeared and humiliated him. So yes, she claims to still Love him and now she has the fame she wanted. She’d be crazy to say anything different.

    Who else could deliver such a song with so much emotion that it reaches deep into one’s being? Elvis needed to get healed from addiction problems. He was too sick to be married. Had he went into a treatment center for about 18 months he could have gotten back with Pricilla & his daughter. Elvis gave Priscilla a black eye & threw a chair at her. She was in a dangerous relationship even though millions idolize Elvis good looks & talent. Elvis even being sick with addiction problems, would pray & sing Christian songs often. He had his Bible in the bathroom the night he died. Too bad he didn’t mature spiritually with Jesus. I think God just heard his prayer & Elvis went on to heaven. His voice & joyous laughter was remarkable. We still love Elvis & he gave a lot of love for mankind. He would go up to strangers & give them gifts even new cars.

    The entire lp was aimed at her and Lisa Marie. It was sad. I just seen what Priscilla said that she & LM would go sit with him upstairs for hours while ginger had to stay downstairs. They talked about getting back together. They never stopped loving each other. Priscilla left because she had to find herself instead of being his molded girl & clone. Plus he wouldn't have relations with her after she gave birth. He said he couldn't sleep with a mother. But I'm sure he realized he was wrong in the way he treated her. Ginger pushed him for the engagement. He didn't marry Linda who he loved but not as much as Cilla. Priscilla was his only real love. His only wife in his eyes.

    @Charlotte Vale you aren't very schooled in relationships. "People like them" as if fame makes a difference in a marriage. In fact it usually causes problems. In this case ,Elvis cheated from day 1 while not giving Priscilla any s@x. I'd never forgive a man for cheating once let alone many times. But if you can't please your woman someone else will. They had barely 9 months of physical intimacy during that marriage yet she stayed and tried out of love. Yet Elvis was getting it. As much as I loved Elvis, yes I was around when he was listening to his music, he was not good relationship material. Linda left him for the same reason. He told her he wouldn't sleep with her if she gave birth. Oh Elvis dad, cousins, cook, friends all confirmed back then Priscilla & Elvis were meeting upstairs about getting back together. He talked about it alot. They were there.

    I'm not sure that's true as much as WE want it to be true. He missed a woman who allowed him to be who he was. A cheater. He cheated on her so many times that to stay and take that abuse would have killed her. Its why he saw her as a mom, and wife but not really a lover. Men sometimes have hard time with the difference.

    Very VERY TRUE. Sometimes you can really love someone and sometimes you still don’t love them quite enough. People underestimate the necessity of compatibility. Some people aren’t spiritually and intellectually compatible. The wear and tear on a marriage from those two issues alone can take even the greatest love and make the relationship unsustainable. Love has many facets and just having Eros love simply cant hold you together over a lifetime.

    Love his voice. He called her Cilla and you can hear him say her name at the beginning of the song. Sad but sweet. She loved him and never married again. Must have been hard to live in that home with so many other people and do what they all want. But the love never left. @Jerry Strange I hate to remind you, but Elvis was drowning in drugs long B4 PRISCILLA left him in 1972. She showed us in the movie, "Elvis 2022 BioPic", why she left him! It was his excessive use of prescription drugs. He wasn' t "willing" nor "ready" to get CLEAN, when Priscilla was "living w/him". Nor "after she left him". I would not expect her to come back, even if Elvis "promised" her he would get clean if she just came back to him. She lived w/him long enough to know his PROMISES didn' t hold water,---he was an addict. She had to know this by then, or she wouldn' t have left him, if she thought there was any chance he could give up the drugs to save himself & relationship. I' m trying to understand where your thoughts were about this relationship when you posted this comment. I would hope you could share that with us. Now I have read comments on KZread by Female Fans of Elvis, who actually blame Priscilla for Elvis' s decline & eventually his death because of her leaving him. Not sure what your thoughts are in this post, so please enlighten us.

    @@PandoraJonesmodel You are right in that comment. Prove was in the movie. I believe Priscilla wanted to make that point very clear to the FANS. Not just to "her" fans, but "his" fans as well. She wanted fans to understand there was a long-standing addiction to prescription drugs here, and a basic knowledge how this affected the relationship w/out sharing details, out of respect for Elvis & their daughter. She also wanted the fans to know of his "temper" when things didn' t go his way. She has done that also in interviews, IF ASKED if Elvis had a TEMPER, she didn' t dodge the question, she didn' t make excuses for him either. What she did,---was be HONEST. She did not elaborate on it, she didn' t bring it up. But if asked,---she answers w/TRUTH. But she doesn' t go to the length of volunteering examples. She still has respect to the father of her child, to not reveal examples of the reality she lived with.

    @Jerry Strange, Elvis may have died of a 💔 heart. However, his wife gave him an opportunity, more than once to CHANGE that situation, so neither one of them had to continue 💔💔 w/broken heartS. 1st: She gave him a good look @ REALITY, she was done putting up w/behavior of a drug addict/gave him a good scoop of REALITY She was done playing this game, and left him! The 2nd time in the movie,---She is aware of a place where people can get help for addictions. She OFFERS to HELP by making arrangements for him TO GET HELP. He again said he couldn' t do that. REMINDER: This conversation went on "privately" in HIS limo/in parking lot @ the airport, (changing out Lisa to go back w/Priscilla). TWO x's she gives him a chance to "GET HELP" for his issue in their marriage relationship. What did HE do,---NOTHING! Then he goes in his self-pity mode, and let's himself fall deeper, n deeper into his addiction! I'm not making this stuff up, to make Elvis look bad. He did this to himself. This is a REALITY of DRUG ADDICTION.

    Pretty sad. I believe him when he sang he hated himself ... just look what he did to himself. You are supposed to love self first before you love another. Not pour love you don't have for self into another. That is destructive to you. He was loved by the world and just empty inside self. Love from others is not felt til you fill self. RIP Elvis 💖🙏💫🌍
