Nice touch on your experience. I have followed Tangerine Travels and KinneticKennons for over a year and I enjoy their commentaries. Regina Sneed Yes, very sad. Nothing but speculation at this point. Most people are of the opinion there was a break-up. I truly hope both of them are well and the end of their videos was not due to an illness of some sort.

I loved visiting Chapala... So beautiful! Thanks for this video for me to come back and reflect on such a terrific visit! This place is very relaxing.. I suppose there are lots of retired folks there, but there are lots of children running and playing.

Well well well. I've been to Chapala and Ajijic so I was interested in your take. I even stayed at La Nueva Pasada for a couple of days. There were lots of nice things. I loved the food and the area was pretty. I rode a horse in Ajijic and had a nice time. There were negatives though. I disliked bumping all the time on cobblestone streets. My husband had to go into a bank and left me driving around since there were no parking places. Finally I pulled into one that I was pretty sure was reserved for taxis or something. A troop of federalis came running out with rifles to chase me away. Cheesh. A horse had died on the rode in downtown. Instead of removing it, it was covered with lime and left to decay. Lake Chapala seemed nearly drained dry as a water source for Guadalajara I think. It was too low for boating. My market experience was marred by the numerous rats frolicking about. We had gone there on a vacation because I had a cousin that used to live there and liked it. I suppose I had a nice visit but we were both homesick.

I call BS on a couple of your claims. Horses are not left to decay in the streets ever! The lake is not “nearly drained dry”. Rats are no more common her than north of the border.

This was the first of your videos that I have seen. My favorite place in Mexico is Morelia, Michoacan. I fell in love with it quickly when I went for one-on-one Spanish tutoring. The Mexican people are sincere, direct, and so hard working. Over the years I have spent eight months there in 6-week increments. I greatly respect their culture and appreciate the people. I must admit that in watching your video, I felt a bit of a stab at the Mexican people. I felt like you were inserting yourself and expecting them to adapt to you. Maybe that is how most of us from the US visit other cultures. I have always found it more rewarding to allow myself to be immersed in the local culture and to be a student of their gifts. I apologize if I am unfairly evaluating your evaluation. Just thought I'd share another perspective.

Hi Andrew, No offense taken. I respect your perspective of the content and context of my videos, I actually receive a lot of comments how they appreciate my mingling with the Mexican people. If you have a chance, maybe watch a couple more videos to see if your perspective changes. You may also find that my videos are geared toward those who have never visited Mexico so my approach is to address their apprehensions or fears toward visiting.

Agreed... The birds are great. Especially the tropical birds. But that alarm chirping. I don’t understand how it does not affect them!

United States it’s beautiful too!! México it’s magic and inexpensive , it’s why it’s attractive … please Mr. Presidente make this towns walkable and safe sidewalks for everybody , wheel chairs , seniors and little kiddos. Make México great again . 🇺🇸🇲🇽

Stephen Cook Thank you, Stephen, for watching. You should enjoy Ajijic since it is very charming with favorable weather. Everyone is different but I enjoy just about any beach town except Huatulco. It’s way to expensive there. Puerto Morelos is still very small, very beautiful with much English spoken. It might be my new favorite.

I recommend you visit Mazamitla magical town, it is beautiful a popular town for its cabins, it is about 45 or an hour from Ajijic.

I’ll be able to better answer your question after my next round of travel from January to March. Which will include Puerto Morelos, La Paz, Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa and of course Acapulco, all beach towns.

In Sicily, artichoke sellers go around the town yelling “Carchofi” out of their car window early in the morning so that the housewives (who typically stay home while the men shop) can buy their artichokes in the street! I saw the same thing in Puerto Rico with local vegetables.😁

I walk with a pimp cane but it looks like it would be difficult to do there with the cobblestones and uneven streets 🤔🤔🤔

I love your video. Very informative for sure. I just would like to give you a small tip, in your comments you always say 'North Americans' and exclude Mexicans, you do know we are also North Americans, right? By now you probably also heard the amazing debate of the use of the word Americans in Mexico, because all Mexicans and other citizens in the American continent technically are American too. Better and safer to say USA citizens, otherwise you will get lots of grumpy-crumodgens like me LOL saying this to you over and over again LOL 🤣🤣🤣 However, this comment si coming from a good place. Really, l love your content and thank you so much for sharing your views and experiences travelling throughout Mexico. Ta-tah!!

Dario Diaz - Yes Dario, thanks for the tip. I am aware of this but you know how us gringos lack the cultural history unlike Mexicanos. I would use the proper “Estadonodiense” but that would further confuse them. So since 90 to 95% of my viewers are gringos I will have to use what they are most use to. However I appreciate your help. If there is anything else you find that needs correcting or clarifying don’t hesitate to let me know.

The hidden gem of San Nicolas de Ibarra is only 7 kilometers away From Chapala up in the hills are the ex pats but some very nice homes in the pueblo.Enjoy

Not everywhere in Mexico do you need to buy Gas .Many places in Mexico you can just turn the knob on the stove just like in the USA .It all depends where you live .

John Griffiths Haha. Never pass up a free margarita. Molcajete is the best one and Consumel is the other. They are right next door to each other at the end of the malecon or pier. I believe Molcajete is closed on Mondays.

It's all a matter of personal taste as there are great qualities in both. I must say there is a much larger community of ex-pats living in the Chapala area and they really look out for each other. Never been there, but in other communities For Sure. The most common approach might be to share a 2 bedroom unit, frugal Mexican diet, no car. No insurance. No heat, no air conditioning. Internet at restaurants . . ..? Medication needs? If you do move here , please share your discoveries. Use ear plugs. Be kind and friendly with neighbours. Grow what you can in your home, tomatoes, peppers, peas, spices, aloe vera, radishes, fruit and vegs..lettuce etc. You can basically feed yourself. Enjoy. If u help your neighbors they may give you eggs? Be creative. You can do it…go 4 it.

I've heard nothing but positive things from expats already in that situation. All I can say is the expats take pretty good care of each other. There is an effective expat society they can reach out to when in need in Chapala. If desired there is an impressive retirement home exclusively for gringos that looks nice. If you haven't done so already, look up the videos of Jerry Brown Travels or JC Travel Stories on KZread for information on this topic. Thanks for watching my video Dolly.

I was not successful so I'm not sure I am a good source to ask, haha. That's not to say there aren't nice Mexican women in Chapala/Ajijic. They will either be locals or vacationing from Guadalajara. Good luck to you.

Some people have a big tank like in rural USA, usually located on the roof. They usually have it refilled every few months.
