That kind'a'irony's something you don't usually learn in English, but you see, it's so funny! There's also some irony in other cultures, although nowadays it's changing and becoming somehow tiring speaking, so I prefer that 'old British smooth way', just like in 'Sherlock' TV series, but explained step by step. Brilliant, Lucy, congrats!
Who else loves the "hello lovely students"?

Very well written! Did you know that we actually say “brav*a*” if we’re congratulating a girl or woman? Bravo is technically for men and boys, or a mixed gender group. Although, plenty of native English speakers will say “bravo” to women, so it’s a common mistake.
I really wanted a lesson on British culture for a long time. Thanks Lucy!
Had I had Lucy's accent and articulation, I would never shut my mouth 😂

Learning English using your method is a great pleasure for me. Thank you very much.
This is such an important part of British culture. We can be much more self-deprecating and jokingly critical of others than our American cousins. Just this morning my boss told me he'd found my replacement...a hat stand 😞

I am Pole, but I love British culture from the beginning of learning their beautiful language! I remember learning the colors: red, yellow, blue, green, purple, its tenses: present simple, continuous, which have been always a fascinating activity! Note: I love the colors also in Polish language. 🙂Thank you very much, dear teacher for the new lesson.
Thank you for shedding light on this important part of British culture 🌟
Thank you for sharing this fabulous video, which explores British cultural nuances so nicely. The cultural remarks highlighted in the video foster a sense of camaraderie and connection with others, which is part of the great culture of Britain. I greatly appreciate the insights provided.
I absolutely love this lesson! It was amazing, thanks a million!🔥🔥🔥
Really look forward to seeing more lessons about British culture. Thanks Lucy!
Love this wonderful British Culture Lesson of you Lucy responding to a teasing with a clever comeback. I love teasing, but I don't like to argue with women. Some men always think they win an argument with a woman,
Brilliant Lucy. Thanks a million. ❤👋👋👋❤

Dear respected sir, thank you so much for your English fruitful lessons and programs which you offered to us and we really appreciate your teaching style and we look forward to support us more better to discus with any one as native speaker.
Great Teacher 😍
Thank you Lucy, this is something I still struggle with in English, I can’t quite understand the tone and nuance in certain situations, so my playful banter attempt can be something that just comes across as mean, or vice versa. This is why I mainly stick to jokes like puns and plain silliness, that way there’s less risk of getting into a big misunderstanding and hurting someone by accident.

Same here! The line is really fine if you don't know perfectly who you're talking to. In my language (spanish) that interchange could seem harsh to me so i must dig in more before adventure myself in such wordgame

more videos on British culture pleaseeee
I miss your old intro! It was such a pretty scene.
love the lesson and love the lipstick! What brand and colour of the lipstick you wore in this video?
It's important for me ✅
The “oh yeah?” Comeback reminds me of It Happened One Night.
💃Very important that you mentioned that these should be used with caution. Yes it is British culture to 'banter' but people must also understand the context... these phrases could be interpreted as rude if you do not have a close relationship with the listener.
I adore you ❤
I understand everything. I like teasing people too lol
Lucy please do vlog as well
💐💐💐💐💐love it my sun ☀️ teacher
Hey lucy,I'm from India and I want that can you elaborate so many words of Jimmy carr's show. Bcuz I'm daily go through his videos. So it's very helpful for me.

Hey! Lucy, I'm curious. In B. English, do we pronounce the "r" in the word "year"? Or is it very much silent like the "r" of er, ar, and or? Thanks.
@EnglishwithVahid1
6 күн бұрын
In British English, the "r" in the word "year" is typically pronounced, although it may vary depending on the regional accent. Generally, the "r" sound in "year" is pronounced, unlike in words like "er," "ar," and "or" where the "r" is often silent. So, in most cases, you would hear the "r" sound in "year" when spoken in British English.
Very nice video you tech mam
I like you mention comebacks. Jimmy Carr once said to some, “if you want my comeback; scrape it off the back of your mum’s teeth”. And he British.
I see it from Bangladesh🇧🇩
Where could we access that kind of audio or chat, please?
