Imogen Heap, Hide And Seek (live), San Francisco, CA, June 8, 2019 (HD)
Музыка
Imogen Heap plays the song "Hide and Seek" live in concert at The Masonic in San Francisco, CA on June 8, 2019. The song originally appeared on her 2005 solo album Speak For Yourself. Heap also contributed a version of the song, called "Edge of the Forest," to the soundtrack for the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, whose entire score she composed. Joining Heap onstage were Zoe Keating (cello), Emma Houston (keytar), Tim Keiper (drums), and Steve Jones (guitar).
Heap performs with Mi.Mu musical gloves, which allow her to manipulate/loop her voice and musical samples with movements of her hands. She said this about them: "They basically enable me to reach inside that computer, and have access to all the software that I love. All of the augmentation of my voice. Or maybe I want to bring in some samples. Or add in a delay. Or reverse my voice, or whatever I want to do. So all of the vocal effects you're hearing tonight are done live."
Hide and Seek lyrics:
Where are we?
What the hell is going on?
The dust has only just begun to fall
Crop circles in the carpet, sinking, feeling
Spin me 'round again and rub my eyes
This can't be happening
When busy streets amass with people
Would stop to hold their heads heavy
Hide and seek
Trains and sewing machines
All those years
They were here first
Oily marks appear on walls
Where pleasure moments hung before
The takeover, the sweeping insensitivity
Of this still life
Hide and seek
Trains and sewing machines
Oh, you won't catch me around here
Blood and tears
They were here first
Mmm, whatcha say?
Mmm, that you only meant well?
Well, of course you did
Mmm, whatcha say?
Mmm, that it's all for the best?
Of course it is
Mmm, whatcha say?
Mmm, that it's just what we need
And you decided this?
Mmm, whatcha say?
Mmm, what did you say?
Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut-outs
Speak no feeling, no, I don't believe you
You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit
Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth
Hide and seek
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut-outs
Speak, no feeling, no, I don't believe you
Hide and seek
You don't care a bit, you don't care a, you don't care a bit
Hide and seek
You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit
Hide and seek
You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit, you don't care a bit

Thanks for watching my video. I gathered all the videos I shot at this concert in a KZread playlist: kzread.info/head/PLwdc0qZNx0tYJHFx9LD27s4mLJj6w6ZVo . The songs are Guitar Song (new song), Breathe In, Flicks, The Walk, Let Go, It's Good To Be In Love, Only Got One, Hide And Seek, and Goodnight And Go. Enjoy!

Playlist saved! I’m excited to see the rest of this show. I come back to this song every few years, and I sing it all the time. This version was interesting; it’s always amazing to watch her paint the soundscape live. Maybe someday I can see her in person myself. I started following her on Spotify a few years ago and was happy to see she’d been making music the whole time I’d been in school and life not paying attention 😅 I really like The Last Night of An Empire but just basically love anything she does. Everything she participates in is innovative in one way or another.

Agh, and I just remembered she does vocals in a song by one of my favorite bands, Blue October! The song is Congratulations and I cri every time. Y’all should hear it and check out Blue October as well - I Hope You’re Happy got big but History for Sale, Foiled, and Argue with a Tree are my favorite albums.
the thing I love about Imogen Heap the most, other than the fact that hide and seek got me through a very hard portion of my adolescence, is that.. she is so iconic, and yet, so humble and down to earth. So appreciative of the fandom, and such a real human.. such a real musician. She's like a friend who you go to support and see perform because you love their work AND want to see them succeed. It's not manufactured at all. That is what I love about Imogen Heap.

She’s a musical visionary, not to mention brilliant composer. I hope we get to see her continue for decades. Humble and quirky are definitely top traits of here and we all love both!

She's actually become an even stronger vocalist than she was before. That is a vocalist that knows her $hit right there
I saw her in NYC and they didn't let us record. Absolutely gorgeous....💖

They probably didn't 'let' him record either 😅
This is the best version of a song she's ever done - the vr experience of this song was so beautiful it was a spiritual moment
god she seems so nice
This music speaks to my soul. It's like the voice of the universe.
She is a genius that inspires many to break the molds of convention. Her spirit is beautiful like the Taj Mahal is beautiful.
Her music for the Cursed Child is some of the most beautiful instrumental music I've ever heard. And this song is amazing.
This is so awesome! This is a rendition of the song that I've seen called "Hide and Seek 2", it was on a compilation album called "Songs for Tibet: The Art of Peace", and it's my favorite version. So cool to see it performed live

Sure was! Thanks for helping me find a more studio-like version of this Hide and Seek kzread.info/dash/bejne/q51l19F_gsythrA.html
First off...thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this. Of course we are all in awe of IH but I would not have heard this version if you had not recorded it. Second, when she ended the song, I felt myself take a massive breath and I started welling up with tears. That was beautiful. Third, can we can a night of IH and Reggie Watts together? How amazing would that be.
Saw her performance in Austin and loved it. Thank you for uploading this!

They both exist as separate entities. This one doesn't take anything away from the other. You prefer another version, that's fine. It doesn't make this one any less brilliant, to thumbs down it would be madness.
