The taps are called Supa Taps. First made back in the 50s. The little pin that dropped out @15:49 is a valve. The water supply doesn't need shutting of to work on these as when the heads on it pushes the pin up allowing water flow but when you take the heads off the water pressure closes the valves allowing you to work on them live. You can still get the washers in some washer packs from City Plumbing

Good old ‘supataps’ 😆ive got a whole load of those washers. The taps were a great design, you can re washer them without turning off the water! They were just very ugly. They also made a plastic version of them that had a habit of snapping off completely at the stem🙈😵😵. Tidy job again though mate, i used to use the mcalpine couplings on lead and just cut the middle part out with a stanley👊🏼👍🏼

Supa-taps :rare as these days, I don't remember seeing any about for a long time, probably mid 2000's Flexi's have their place and this job looked to be a good candidate! as clearly the customer didn't have the budget for a new bathroom, soil stack etc....... and the flexi jot the job done without knocking the wall out and altering the stack.
