I’m 38 and I work with 18-22 year olds. She looks her age. You would only think she looks older than her age if you’re younger than her and not accustomed to seeing the signs of aging.

She fits the concept, I love her bright and fun smile. She's so beautiful and talented. Why do all of you say "debut adults" but when they do, you make fun of them and want them to look even younger? It's hypocritical.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot. I’m 24 and often get invaded by the feeling of being too old to start anything new or whatever (or even ‘not having achieved anything’) bc we’ve been seeing an overwhelming increase in child stars both in the west and east in the last 10/15 years. honestly thank you for this comment, i've been feeling so unaccomplished for my age and like i'm falling behind/"running out of time"... i love kpop but sometimes it's hard to watch so many talented, pretty young ppl achieve their dreams when i feel like i'm not succeeding in life. it's nice to know i'm not alone in feeling this way, gotta remind myself that it's ok to be normal and do things at my own pace/not compare myself to celebs no matter how relatable they seem

Most of us didn’t audition or go through their training process and we don’t have their companies backing us up so it’s natural for our ‘achievements’ to be very different, and that’s ok. I don't actually think she looks too old for the concept, Nayeon was around her age when twice debuted and twice stuck with cute concept on and off up until 2021. The difference is twice was a bigger group with 2 girls 4 years younger than the oldest, and most of the members were about 19-17 when they debuted so if anything the younger members would have stood out more for looking younger if that makes sense.

The emphasis on ageing is terribly problematic because of societal standards. And seeing this treatment of idols, who debut at such a young age is horrifying. It is bad enough that artists in the entertainment industry, who are near their 30s or turn 30, consider themselves to be "old" as if they have reached their 60s. And of course, adding the aspect of fans shaming artists for their age, absolutely disgusting.

It isn’t so much that she looks old, rather its that she doesn’t have a “childlike” appearance. Yunah’s features match those of a model (high cheekbones, smile, etc.), and they make her seem out of place compared to the other members who have softer features. You can tell Yunah is young, but her visuals conflict a bit with the concept. But at the end of the day, Yunah is really pretty and even outshines some of the other members.

NGL either due to her makeup or just she looks more matured looking, she gives me the vibe that she's around 24-ish or above (technically a young working adult). Well 24 is still considered super young though. It doesn't even have to be below 20..

Imo Yunah doesn't fit a sweet, innocent, childlike concept that much. I noticed, since the lineup formation, that visually and conceptually she seemed a bit out of place. Her sharp features, slender and long body proportions, the strength she puts on her dancing and her cool vibe put her apart from her members. The other girls have soft features, a soft vibe, have similar heights and look and act softer in general. When Youngseo was part of the lineup she was the middle point between Yunah and the other girls. Although I don't think she would've fit Illit's concept as well. Imagine Yunah in Lesserafim, ITZY, maybe even Aespa. I believe she would crush any of those concepts as she can be fierce and confident, but also bubbly and playful. She would shine. Anyways, I'm glad she debuted because she's extremely talented, but I would've loved to see her in a more fitting concept. I bet you anything that she wouldn't receive this criticism had Illit debuted with a more fierce and confident image. But whats done is done. I love Illit's music and concept, and I support Yunah. I don't mind these things even when I notice them. I hope people warm up to Yunah as time goes by.
