I think the NJ comparison stops at long black hair, NJ is more of a just girls being girls, nostalgic and refreshing concept and music, vs ILLIT has a more city pop, videogame type of sound and a focus on cute dreamy and even kinda creepy in their concept.

But I've seen them get compared a lot so I pointed out that besides the hair lenght (which is a dumb thing to compare or be bothered by) their sound and general concept are very different and everyone in the replies agreed with that.

The concept is a dream sequence. Hence, the phenomena like "time freezing" and walking on wall and ceilings, etc. The unicorn is a metaphor for the "boy" they're chasing...a mythological creature they're attracted to. Also, at the end it shows all the girls asleep, meaning they're still in the dream. 🦄

You know it's good when you watch it twice in the reaction video 😭 you should react to the other 3 songs, it's a no skip album! I watched the show and this is the best concept they could have given them! I'm so proud of these girls!!!!

kpop fans really need to stop seeing comparison as a bad thing. that's how recommendations work: if you like this group, you may like these others because they have similar vibes. if you liked NJ's most recent cb, you'd probably like magnetic! they both have fun stage presence, airy and dreamy tones to their voices and tracks, catchy chorus and choreo. i hope NJ stays true to their sound because i enjoy it, but they won't be the only ones doing it. things trend and companies see what's popular, so we're gonna see it done a lot.
