Illegal arrest and search. Cops search vehicle and the only thing they found a federal lawsuit

Typically, they can inventory (aka search) the vehicle if they arrest you and tow the vehicle. If they did not arrest you then you have a good case to show the search was illegal and violated 4th amendment. Would be tough to win in court. If your license was actually suspended their qualified immunity will likely protect them. Sorry you had to deal with this. Good luck.
