Awesome episode, that was some close shave you got with that one.. but hey.. happens to all of us, the fact you survived is what matters most of all, so you know.. the fog of war smiled on you and gave you another chance. Your wing mates had it rough too so, at least you wasn't on your own, that's the horror of the Eastern Front my friend.. hardest front in the war, at least the enemy got bloodied so.. small mercy, and another kill claimed.. non conformist manner but still.. another kill bagged. That was a great controlled belly landing beside that rail line, damage wasn't too bad.. nothing you can't repair easily, and who knows.. maybe landing beside a rail line could give some benefits.. if you can't get home by train, just walk along the tracks for a few miles before getting back to the airfield. Great episode, was really gripping, you did well.. keep at it, fly safe bro and happy hunting mate 👏👍

Hell of a close call! Good on you for making it! Classic example of a "taran" attacl (albeit accidentally) Heartless as it sounds, you should have gone for the Stukas instead of trying to save the other flight of I-16s. They were leading them in the opposite direction, and you would have had free reign over the whole formation. Sure, you wouldn't have prevented their strike, but enemy losses are enemy losses. Nevertheless, good job making it down in one piece!
