I love to see a HE111 or JU88 career. Bombing in IL2 is really cool

When you drop your bombs, remember that most misses were when bombs went LONG, over the target, rather than falling short. In the two seconds or so it takes you to drop your bombs, your plane travels about half the length of the cargo ship. Drop your first one just behind the stern and "walk" them up the length of the ship. If the first one does miss short, in RL you would likely still damage the rudder and propellers. By dropping just a bit early, most of the hits should be pretty solid. If you do slip up and take an extra second or so to get all the bombs released, you'll still get hits with the late ones as well.

This format was good. I especially liked how you followed other planes to show what they were doing in the encounter.

What I like BEST about your vids is how you handle (almost) everything with good humor - sometimes very funny humor. You seldom rant, and almost never spew profanity. I watch you primarily because I enjoy your company - even though you don't know I'm there. That being said, I'm not keen on bombers or subs - but I know you are, so I'll live with it.

I'm all in for a few different planes, then decide which you like the most, sounds like a plan.

13:32 - I'd say that was quite a nice first landing. You really flared it at the last moment, but at least you didn't bounce around much.

Those two rear gunners in Heinkels put together had a much smaller field of fire than a single end-turret in Allied bombers.

Taff, Thank You for your awesome video, In the past i spent hours upon hours in flight Simulations. IL2 was one of my favorites. I havnt purchased a computer in about 13 years so for now im going to enjoy watching your videos and living without having to play. I reall rnjoy this format and look forward to watching you fy my favorite German Aircaft the Junkers JU 87 with the screaming sirens!!! Keep them coming!!!

Taff I loved this one!! The music, the cut scenes were perfect! I really enjoyed this one brother!!

I like the idea of polling to see what you do next, my only drawback on this video was that there wasn't a whole lot of Taff in it during the dog fight.

I think the He111 was originally designed as a commercial airliner before the war, but became adapted to the role as a bomber for the Spanish Civil War. Ultimately it proved ineffective as a strategic bomber as early as the Battle of Britain because of the relatively light payload it could carry, when compared to the 4-engine bombers of the Allies, such as the Avro Lancaster and the B-17 Fortresses. It was also, like most of the Luftwaffe bombing fleet to be honest, unable to fend off Allied fighter attacks and was particularly vulnerable to a head-on attack with only one defensive gun in the nose. The Polish pilots introduced the head-on attack in the Battle of Britain and that became the standard method used to break up the bomber formations and then individual bombers could be picked off thereafter. But yes, a beautiful-looking aircraft.

The He-111 is by far one of the prettiest German aircraft of WWII. and I agree with all saying Heinkel career!

A bomber career would be amazing. Not alot of peeps do any bombers as careers.

Watching you play this makes me miss when I did nothing but this game. I flew this and the Stuka pretty much. I was never good in the fighter.

I would love to see a Dornier, but anything you make will be worth the watch.

Love this sim, and love your content. Side note though: one of the highest production value components of IL2 i the sound. They capture the deep bass of the props, engines, and screams of turbos very well, and have one of the only sound engines that gets aircraft sounds at a distance just right. During your battle sequences, I can understand wanting some music, but I don't think it benefits the scene overall to mute down these awesome sounds for the sake of such a low-key soundtrack. For the what you're going for some war drums quiet in the background and the game audio turned up probably would have hit it better for me

Yup, you would be pretty vulnerable sitting with just a sheet of perspex in front of you keeping the breeze out of your face and especially so when faced with the sort of head-on attack the Polish pilots flying with the RAF employed in the Battle of Britain to break up the bomber formations. Scary stuff indeed, even with those pathetic .303 calibre Brownings (a bit more oomph when they started to use the 20mm Hispano cannons)!

The cinematics of this game continue to astound me. 👍👍

I love this format, and I would vote for the 111. Depending of course on the options. I would actually suggest putting the poll up right away so that those of us who don't need to see samples can vote early!

It's surprising how few of these beautiful bombers exist today.. but, there is only 43 B-17's left and the us made thousands of them.

If there is a flight sim sale (IL2, DCS, FSX etc) on somewhere I am nearly always buying something. I know I shouldn't but I just can't help myself. It's a sickness :) Everyone should be allowed one vice.

Not a bad video, however I was left wanting fewer external scenes and more footage of what you were actually doing and your commentating. A bomber campaign would be good to watch though.

Loved it and am for the suggestion of flying different a/c until you are ready for your listeners aka subscribers to make the selectiom

Thumbs up, Taff! The He-111 is indeed an interesting aircraft, but why fly a dump truck when you could fly a Formula 1? Besides, Taff, old boy, I suspect a career in the 111 would be rather short. By the way, would a Mosquito happen to be on your list? Deep penetration night raids on German airfields. Hmmm, that sounds rather exciting. Especially if you catch a Me-262 returning to base.

Excellent production, really liked the sound track, gotta' admit, that was a cool aircraft. I'm surprised it would bomb from that height but I admit I don't have a clue how they operated. I have one question that I DEMAND the answer to (anybody help); what is the vessel in the foreground at 8.47? Never seen anything like it! I also have an 'observation/'thing' that someone told me' (before the days of the internet)....it is this; the HE 111's struggled with defensive capabilities throughout the war, one of the problems being that the front gun in particular had a drum magazine of very limited capacity (and traverse), so if the gunner had to reload he had to release the empty drum and turn around to locate a fresh one, grab that, make sure the empty drum was safely stowed so that it wouldn't bounce around and possibly jamb the pilot's controls, then reload and re-cock the machine gun. Probably not a great idea wen you are being 'bounced' by Hurricanes? I would love to get a reply from anybody who might enlighten me. One last thing, Taff in Exile, I'd love to see Taff in Mosquito! Pax.

The career playthroughs are my favorite however I can see where singular missions give variety and depth to the channel. I think the careers are endearing as you have a particular pilot to follow, its as if you get to know him and sort of form a bond if that's the correct way to word it. The anticipation of seeing the next video wondering if he'll make it through sort of thing. With the single missions there is no connection like that but it is entertaining nonetheless not to mention a great way to give viewers a preview of what career they would like to see in the future. I like it and the blend of cinematic/hands on presentation.

I remember, that in European Air War (pc game), this aircraft had the mos iconic engine sound.

It would be awesome to see some videos with patreons as your crew :)

You should feature different aircraft often.

Hi Taff. I saw you using your mouse to move controls & set measurements. I didn't think you could do that in IL-2 sturmovik great battles. Have you used some sort of mod?

More of the He-111 please, maybe some B-17/B-29 Suerfortress. And Spitfire is a must.

He’d into the settings controls and make sure you pitch,yaw and roll are configured to your stick controls. One of the pains of these sims Is the amount of controls confit you need to do, all you need to do is click on the various commands with mouse and then click the button on the Hotas you want to set

Yes,I agree but how long would the career last....and would taff be the pilot or one of the gunners. But the 262 jet would something completely different.
