It was so satisfying on the few occasions when you managed to do a double-head kick that successfully knocked out both of your opponents at the same time!

Loved this game when I was a kid! Music was awesome and the subtle animation happening in the background was always nice to watch.

It is amazing how games on the NES and even N64 didn't date well, when Amiga titles such as this still look and play amazingly well.

One of my most favourite games! I especially loved it to press the "T" on the keyboard and when the fighters stood still, they lost their trousers and you could hit em easily! :D

When you get yourself to black belt, thats when the game really starts ;)

It's an absolute classic! So many moves! Seriously technical! I love how the sprites get knocked out and/or down. It's so funny!

This, Silkworm, Golden Axe and Hostages. I loved those days

always loved the headbutt/bite stance then getting smashed in the face straight after

C64 music is unbeatable!

Looved this as younger. Also that some soundeffects are lifted from Enter The Dragon makes it evwn more awesome.

Average gamer, you played this very well. I always had the bombs take me out

Loved it! I remember there was some "secret" key combination you could do to cycle through different colors of the sky in the background.

And the spacing, Literally had to be inch perfect 👌🏽

now i've noticed, that they climb up in the belts during the fighting, so 50000 points means black belt. I haven't played it a lot but was new to me.

Bro. You don't know what it means to me to hear the sound effects after all these years. Ty so mutch. I loved this game and always will. Amiga 500 Commondore was the real deal. Edit: Almost forgot to listen to this every day!

Even after all these years I am still laughing my butt off about the sound effects and the visuals.

I actually busted a joystick on this game … On several games by the way.

My first fighting game and one of my favorites back then. The music was epic.

Holy hell, I got flashbacks when that soundtrack kicked in!

Who could forget all these intense multiplayer matches ! INTERNATIONAL KARATE !

Ikr? Got a brown belt and even at 1. Kyu it was insane. Such a satisfying game though

I love how they just ripped sound effects from Enter the Dragon.

One of my alltime favourites ! Good memories and i still LOVE the music and the graphics design ! The bouncing balls where nerve wrecking…. 🥵

When you pull off a head kick... "IN THE FACE!!"

The game had good commentaries, a great sound and was totally ingenious in terms of combat moves and fun. i played it with my brother for a long time and we had a lot of fun. no PC emulator was good enough for us. I only found it brilliant with a joystick on the Amiga. ;-))

The Amiga CPU must be spending at least 30% of its time drawing Pacman, birds, submarines, the sun's reflection etc. Super tight interrupt code needed for that.

the first time in my life, when i was to kid, I have seen what karate is, always like a child after i see on tv karate and some movies of Bruce Lee (i know Bruce Lee is other style of fight)

This is genuinely the origin of modern fighting games. Street Fighter is basically IK with motion inputs for special moves.

I always wanted to be the blue guy. Also, I wanted to the option to fight only one opponent. Well. One cant have it all. The game was a blessing anyway. Loved it as a child.

I have the C64 version on Wii. IK and IK+. Also have the arcade version of karate champ on switch. Great games.

Sure was :) There was only one button one the Amiga joystick (left and right button did the same action)

HOW CAN I ENABLE THE MOVE SOUNDS ?

The joystick of my A500 was done within minutes.

Is it worth trying to license this and reboot it for modern computers. 20+ years ago I heard someone approach Archer Mclean for a deal to license the game for a SNES conversion. He agreed to this for a fee of £25k but the deal didn't get past that. I don't know if it would be feasible to try and negotiate for the rights with his estate or what the price would be today. But say if it was £5k for the rights do those on here who loved the game then think it's worth trying to set up a kickstarter to make that happen. Is there a demand to pay for the reboot? I'm semi-serious but also just gauging interest generally. I would do the development myself and target Android, iOS, Win10 and MacOS.
