Sometimes i see Iga Swiatek's footwork is too rushed & weak

Swiatek movements on the court is simply amazing. Such speed, sliding on hard court, stamina to run so much intervals, positioning herself on court. Also great hard hits often on line. There are some aspects that she can still improve a bit like serv, bit fact the she can play like this with not top form is crazy. Sabalenka played well, maybe even very well, but it was not enough.

Iga is like many of the great ones. She does't let you see more of her game than she needs to. She raises her level when it becomes necessary.

I agree... She raises her tennis level when necessary during critical moments. She demonstrates a high level of tennis IQ

Last 4 games Świątek was simply on her unbeatable level. Bad news for Jabeur.

Amazing match! Always so impressed with Iga's footwork to get into the right position for each shot. It's a lot of off court hours to be that nimble and precise.

Excellent performance and determination by Iga

Swiatek has the whole package: speed, athleticism, variety, versatility, court sense and smarts. Very few other top women players can put as much topspin on the ball.

i really appreciate that aryna seemed to quiet her grunts down a little bit for this match.

The 3rd set blows my mind.

A great career ahead of Sabalenka! She will have a great success advertising sunglasses !!!

Istnieją niezliczone badania dowodzące, że krzyczenie przy odbijaniu piłki nie jest taktyką mającą na celu zdeprymowanie przeciwnika tylko naturalną reakcją niektórych osób. Była już jedna taka tenisistka której ciągle zwracano uwagę że jest za głośna i powinna się zamknąć. W końcu uległa presji, przestała krzyczeć przy odbiciach i przegrała przez to wielkoszlemowy finał. Cieszę się że Iga wygrała, ale przestańmy ciągle wylewać kubły pomyj na graczy którzy sobie trochę jęczą.

@@daviexcx Z punktu widzenia fizjologii krzyk (praca przepony, mięśni klatki piersiowej, usztywnienie mięśni szyi itd) wywołuje duże zużycie energii co pozwoliło Idze wygrać ostatnie 4 gemy w ostatnim secie i to przy jej bardzo słabej formie.

Just can't put my finger on it, but in Sabalenka power, there is just a kind of mesmerizing beauty from my pov. Just cameback from AO 2024 and it was sensational.

The thing the i like about tennis is that power isn't everything. Iga is not the biggest or hardest hitter but the ability to change direction and have that aggressive mindset to attack sets her apart from the other players who are less powerful

Iga hits pretty hard she just doesn't screen or grunt like some others. I would wager that her average ball speed is as high as anyone on the women's tour.

Why do you think so? Henin plays slice, has a one handed backhand, comes to the net, is small, etc. Not much in common. More wishful from Iga's fans.

No, backhand and forehand are completely different. I saw in Iga more of Kim Clijsters. One thing is common with Justine Henin - a hat.

Iga used her slice to great advantage in her FO 2020 win. Somehow it has all but disappeared from her present game. She could've done much better at Wimby if she'd used her slice, IMO.

it might, indeed.... one thing thou.. Caroline Garcia is a great offender but not great at defensive game. That's why she lost with Ons... Ons didn't give Caroline a chance to play her usual offensive game. Tennis is unreal - it's not only physical but also strategic and mental.

Well if you judge her play by a Serena-style scream every time she hits the ball, then touche, you are correct.

I don't like Iga's game .. Her key to win is to hit the ball like a boxer .. it's not at all a pleasant game to watch unlike Ons, who has a varied, surprising, intelligent game, .. very pleasant to watch ..

Iga's coach- Wiktorowski used to train Radwanska. She was the crowd's favourite because of her finesse play, trick and drop shots and playing enjoyable to watch tennis overall. Many of her shots were the best shots of the game or tournament. Yet, she never won a Grand Slam and most of her points were coming from smaller tournaments, despite being world No. 2 at some point. She was losing many games against more powerful opponents, especially when playing against Serena. In the end, it is all about who is raising the trophy.

C'mon Ons Jabeur, tired of Iga - not really a crowd favorite- "ego" is big compared to her 1ST grand slam win.
