    My eyes well up with tears when Senator Kennedy goes over and joins his wife and daughter. I was 6 years old and at school on November 22,1963 when our Beloved President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was so brutally taken from us. I thought to myself, who would want to hurt our President? His wonderful picture was placed on our schoolroom wall alongside Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. I now say, what dastardly cowards took aim at this great man and shot him down in the presence of his wife!

    JFK certainly wasn't public shy and very much interested in having public contact - a point that was made at the time of his sad passing, particularly in regard to the open vehicle/s of the motorcade. In this historic film footage, the fact that his mother, sister and his wife were taking calls from the public for him to answer at home, like telephone operators, is a classic example of how much time he and they all had for the ordinary women and men. RIP President JF Kennedy. 🙂🙏🙏🙏🙏🌷🌺🌸

    JFK’s 1958 campaign for re-election to the Senate was a spare no effort and spare no expense affair. The name of the game was to get re-elected by the largest margin possible. Since the end of the 1956 Democratic National Convention, Jack Kennedy was seriously thinking about about a run for the Presidency in 1960. It’s important that films like this one be preserved. I didn’t know until I saw this one that Bobby Sr (for me, the only Bobby) was an autograph collector.

    @@ilovebeinagirl actually marriages were not the way they are now because they actually FIXED their issues instead of going around sleeping with someone else and getting a “divorce” AS A WHOLE IN GENERAL. Your just putting today’s society in the past and thinking it was the same back then but nothing could be done about it. People had a different MINDSET. Evil did not abound like it does today AT ALL. And I am speaking of this country as a WHOLE. If you don’t see the complete turn around as a WHOLE in this country then you are living under a ROCK! Wake up and look outside of “YOUR AREA” for crying out loud! And maybe watch a few more videos from back in the 50’s too or talk to those who were living in that era like every person I have ever spoken to that told me how life was back then including the lovely comments above.... and yea if you live on this earth today then I absolutely live AROUND YOU sweetheart

    Rose was the daughter of John Francis "Honey Fitz" Fitzgerald, a Boston Congressman and very famous mayor of Boston. She grew up in as political as family as could be. She had politics in her bones.

    What was with the phone numbers then? Stadium 2 XXXX. What's that mean?

  • @moeb434

    @moeb434

    Stadium is a name for a telephone number zone. Usually the first two letters corresponded to a number on the telephone dial. My number was EMpire3-6438. Sometimes we would say "E M three, six four three eight". If you dialed outside of your zone, you paid more. The further away the zone the more you paid.

    Every phone number in the U.S. had the name of the central office or the telephone building your phone line originated from. It changed in the late sixties/early seventies to the three digit prefix or first three digits of your landline/home phone number. All telepnone buildings have a "code" name to identify them, this name was the first part of phone numbers back then.

    I m not a fan of jfk as I don't feel he supported back civil rights and because he got us into Nam! Rfk was the real people's hero ! And Ted was an honorable senator who championed education! Within the next decade I've heard newly released public info may unveil jfks assassination was lbj really the architect of the deed? And who really killed rfk? The fatal shot came from the back Siriano shot from the front?
