@@BlitzAce-pj9jrHomelander definitely wouldn’t have been worse. A big part of why he’s evil is because he was raised with zero love and basically treated as a complete experiment. Almost Everything he learned in life was from being forced to sit in a white room and watch videos on repeat to “mold” his personality. And despite this, he actually tried to be a hero at first until he snapped. Him having family would delete most aspects of evilness he has

@@BlitzAce-pj9jr Idk, becoming a parent changes some people some for the good and some not. I want to think that Once Solider Boy had found out about Homelander much earlier then he did something would have changed in him. Maybe he'd have seen it as an opportunity to not be like his own father and be a good father to his son.... That being said thers also the possibility he wouldn't have seeing as that his entire team plotted behind his back to get him out of the way. That tells me he wasn't a very good person to start with and he may not have made the effort to change for his child

There still might be an element of incest. Soldier Boy was hooking up with Stormfront. I think he even said that they started the Herogasm tradition. She was also heavily involved with V experimentation, basically running the research facility, with Lamplighter as her underling. It’s not too much of a stretch to think that, wanting a better, super-supe, Vought would have combined her eggs with Soldier Boy’s sperm. It would explain Homelander’s powers. Strength, and toughness, from Soldier Boy, flight, and energy projection, from the Stormfront. His speed, and superior senses, could come from them, from abilities not specifically mentioned, on the show, or could be the result of combining all of the genes, of both parents, creating something entirely new. This would put a much darker spin on her actions, and would, almost certainly, drive Homelander into a full blown mental breakdown, when he found out. Anyway, it’s just a thought.

The good news is that Homelander raised by Soldier Boy would be emotionally and psychologically stable due to having a parent to look up to, a parent who would treat him like a son. The bad news is that parent is Soldier Boy, a ruthless, calculating killer who has no problems killing the innocent to get the job done. He's also a great CQC fighter, so on top of raising Homelander to be a ruthless son of a bitch like him, Soldier Boy would likely pass down his expertise in CQC to his son. So the end result is that Homelander would be more psychologically and emotionally stable, but also more effective in CQC due to being trained by a great CQC fighter. He would also be just as ruthless as his father. In short, imagine Homelander now, but without the laziness or the psychological/emotional weaknesses. He'd be able to save everyone on that plane that wound up crashing in the show, but he also would not fear Stan Edgar and he'd be more sure of himself and more willing to take risks since that's what his dad would teach him. Since he's the son of the first American superhero, Homelander would be more emotionally positive about his identity, and more willing to embrace it, instead of having a crisis of conscience like he did in the show thanks to Vought's haphazard upgringing of him.

I had a horrible father, and i use that experience to be a better person. But i still had a father. He still sometimes treated me as a human. Growing up in a lab he wasnt even treated as a person. He was a weapon. If Soldier Boy was a father to him, he'd at least have that. Plus he'd have some sort of mother figure im guessing, i doubt Soldier Boy would've stayed single

The thing about soldier boy is that yes he’s a asshole but think about how when he joined the boys, he started softening up a little. Even just slightly. Soldier not clearly desired companionship. I mean, why else would he be so emotionally vulnerable to butcher, someone who he could identify with. Soldier boy recounting how much he wanted a son too. It was very genuine and he was probably on the verge of tears admitting it. The problem wasn’t Homelander being a “disappointment” and taking after his father. It’s that Homelander was a genuinely disgusting person. And Butcher probably drilled that in. Soldier boy also was on a mission. He tried his best to be a soldier and push away his feelings. Homelander being a terrible waste of air makes it easier to do so. Even if Homelander was trauma dumping onto him. I’d say overall, soldier boy would’ve been a good influence in Homelander. Like having a son would’ve probably made soldier boy clean up some of his degenerative tendencies. I don’t think he’d change his world views of the current American culture. But that wouldn’t matter since soldier boy at least claims he’d be present and “do it better” than his father

I get that Soldier boy isn't the perfect guy, but I do believe that he could have had a positive effect regardless of Soldier Boy being a good or bad father, for this I look to my own father's upbringing as I'm told that he had a bad upbringing to a point where my father doesn't even talk about and has cut off most of his family apart from his sister/my aunt. Yet, despite his own father being abusive, mine has never laid a hand on me or been verbally abuseive towards me and made sure that my brother and I have lived good lives so far. I'm not saying that this would be the outcome whether Soldier Boy was a good father or not, but it proves that sons don't always follow their father's footsteps and for all we know Homelander could have had the best upbringing a child could have and still become who he is, sure it is unlikely but it still can happen. I do enjoy going into stuff like this as despite the Boys being a more depraved version of heroes we love, we still want to see alternative timelines where even the Boys can have happier moments.

Homelander would have been even worse than he is now if Soldier Boy had raised him. The way Homlander was raised left psychological and metal scars on him that have broken him mentally and turned him into a mentally broken person. If he were raised by a soldier boy, he would probably have physical and mental health scars. It's more likely he would have turned out to be a worse version of Butcher, and that could have been worse without good friends or a good girlfriend directing him down a good path, but even good friends can't fix all his problems, and that's something we see in Butcher, who puts his goals above anything else. The truth is, because of his powers, he would always have vought around, even if a soldier boy raised him, and they would find a way to manipulate him into a bad path, so it's more likely he would have turned out bad either way. Also likely, SB would've passed on all of his outdated world views, prejudices, and racism and reinforced even more so into HL that he's unstoppable so he can do whatever he wants, which is worse. A version of Homelander who doesn't need people's love or admiration would be more dangerous and stronger than the current Homelander, he would be more arrogant, cold, and determined, and his superiority complex would curb his empathy, which would contribute to a ruthless attitude. While his methods of violence would be more extreme but he firmly believes that they are justified. It's more likely he would eventually turn into a dictator on a faster path than the current Homelander.

I would have loved it and respected the character of Soldier boy a little if he had said after my father insulted me I crushed his head I never got his respect but in the end I saw the fear in his eyes The way he put it made him seem super weak You're the strongest man in the world and your father is allowed to belittle you WEAK 😂 with that weakness he could never be a good father to homelander because he would always be thinking of what his father would do which would make him be abusive
