I tip where warranted based on my own morality I don’t let anyone or any business pressure me into tipping. I don’t food delivery services to begin with because it’s just a rip off. They mark up the food, you pay them a delivery fee directly and have this weird obligation to tip before I even receive the food. I have a friend that owns a deli and I would see driver after driver come in and never ask to verify the order. That level of laziness is wild. So when the food is wrong or it’s missing something you should still tip, pay a delivery fee and get the food marked up? That business is just a disaster. Customers are fed up, drivers are fed because the only one winning is the business. Even my friend loses because ppl order food then cancel and he’s stuck with a 12 dollar sandwich he can’t sell

Restaurants can be successful and pay their employees a good wage, I see it all the time in California. So why in California should I tip 15% at a restaurant when the staff already makes 17$/hr? Assuming they actually have tables fully booked, that would equate to them making 30-50$+ per hour, which is great but shouldn't be expected for that industry. When you tip, even if it isn't a substantial amount, some people still get upset. I typically go for a 10% tip. It seems people expect around 20% or more these days. That's why I stopped using delivery services and now always choose pickup. Even cashiers at grocery stores are asking for tips. Aren't they paid by the hour? So, I've started using self-checkout instead. I'm not being cheap; I'm just not happy about people demanding extra money for doing their job. The only exception I make is for restaurant waiting staff. When I'm likely spending over $70 for a meal at a table, I might tip 15% based on the waiter's performance. Yes, I will tip more for a smile and timely drink refills. If that’s too much to ask for $10.50, then that’s unfortunate. You should probably get a better job that or I just wont take my ass to your business anymore due to guilt tripping customers to give more tips. @@flippinfunkos yeah the few times I've used DD or UberEats they ask my tip up front. Immediately the app set it to 20% (which is hilarious because I ordered 2 meals for 35 dollars I'm not tipping someone 7 dollars to drive 5 miles round trip, sorry). I understand your points. But you seem to be in denial that anyone else has any reasonable points. Most people my age don't trade funko pops and know how to post shorts to KZread. They also remember using logic in order to fairly tip pizza delivery drivers. These people are just more entitled "entrepreneur" versions of those same pizza delivery drivers.

There is no reasonable point. You go in knowing that you’re using a service that is rooted in tipping the person that performs the service. If you participate and don’t tip, you’re the problem. No one is forcing you to tip. But asking human being to bring your food to you and not tip that person accordingly is scummy. Period. If you disagree, go get your own food. It’s not that difficult.

My rule is if I was standing during the whole interaction... there is absolutely no reason to tip. Of course i'm going to tip services like waiters, food delivery drivers etc but the american tipping culture has gotten absolutely ridiculous and expects you to tip the cashier taking your order at fucking starbucks. It's sad but I think this has soured a lot of people on tipping in general and now I know quite a few people who just say "I don't tip anybody anymore"
