Tipping turns service employees into small business owners.

Would be worse if they were hourly employees with no prospects of making more than just minimum wage.

@@flippinfunkos left a job in March for that exact reason. Overworked and no hope of ever increasing wages. In business for myself and cut out the middlemen. Much happier. Make my own hours and I get to choose when I’m underpaid or not.

So if I dont use the service and others dont use the service guess what? somebody losses their job, so in turn by not tipping them I'm still keeping them employed by using the service.

@@flippinfunkos you’re advocating for all non tippers to not frequent a service, not that anyone is going to listen to u but for argument sakes I replied what the flaw in that is

@@mackjones8409 I disagree that it would prove problematic. If all non tippers stopped using tip based services tomorrow, it opens up time and opportunity for the worker to serve customers who are actually participating in the business model.

I tip all the time, but it’s getting ridiculous. Using the service has a price associated with with it. Tipping is optional, and you pretending it isn’t isn’t going to help anyone. I haven’t stiffed a waiter in my memory, but as the quality gets worse and worse, I am getting tempted. Also, 20% isn’t written in stone. If you provide GREAT service 20% is a good guideline, but 15% is normal service tipping at a decent check range.

I agree tipping is getting ridiculous in places it shouldn’t be and I’m not saying tip even if service is bad.
